Huff, Mr. Jessup, and ',fir. Peyton. Noes: None. <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 36 ENTITLED <br />tCARNIVALS? OF THE ANNUAL LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE ADOPTED MA'L 20, 1939, AND SPREAD IN <br />ORDINANCE BOOK 2, PAGES 211-21911, was -offered by Dr. Haden, seconded by ."ter . Gleason, <br />and upon the rules being suspended as to the second reading by unanimous vote was <br />adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: ;sir. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Xir. Jessup, and ;fir. Peyton. Noes: None. (Full text of this ordinance will be found <br />recorded in Ordinance Book 2, page 236) . <br />On motion by ,Jr. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Haden, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RE SOT by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$500.00, be and the same is hereby appropriated to help defray the expenses <br />of the Fire Company to the Firemenst Convention at Cape Charles on August 8 to <br />11, 1939. <br />T1 -ie following communication was presented: <br />Mr. James E. Bowen, Jr. <br />City Auditor <br />Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Dear Sir: <br />Chart ottesvll e <br />May 10, 1939 <br />I have for acknowledgment your letter of <br />May 9th, enclosing check, amounting to $374.50, <br />representing 531% of $700.00 of Woolen gills <br />Communication Sanitary District Bonds due and payable on May 1, <br />Director of 1939. <br />Finance <br />I note you failed to include interest <br />for the first ten days in this month, which <br />amounts to $.31. Please remit this amount as <br />promptly as is convenient to you. <br />
