ATb pgpINANCE REGULATI-EG TIIE HAULING Ol EARTH FTC. p 2�- , STREETS OF TITS CITY. <br />(Adopted October 13,1904. ) <br />BF, IT ORDAINED BY VE CITY COMM IL, That no person shall haul in any wagon or cart, <br />or otherwise convey any earth,dirt or sand over any paved or Macadamized street except <br />in clope wagon beds,close carts or tther conveyances,through which no dirt,earth or sand <br />will sift or fall on the street; nor shall any person so hauling dirt,earth,or sand load <br />his wagon, cart or other conveyance so full as to allow any of the dirt ,earth or sand <br />to jolt off or fall on the street. <br />PENALTY. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined not <br />less tha?, one dollar ($1.00) nor more than ten dollars ($10.00) for each offense. <br />Presented October 20,1904; Approved October 20,1904. <br />I::M-yor. <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AIMND THE ORDII_:ANCES GOVERIKEG THE EXAMINATION OF GAS METERS AND THE MUMERING OF <br />GAS BILLS. (Adopted December,911904. ) <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMICIL,That sections 4 and 7 of Chapter 12 of the <br />Ordinances of the City of Charlottesville be amended and re-enacted so as to read as <br />follows:-- <br />SECTIOr: 4. EXAYLINATIOY OF METITSe It shall be the duty of the Superintendent of <br />the Gas Works on the last day of Bach month to examine' the state of the meters used by <br />the Gas consumers and to furnish the treasurer with a statement of the amount of gas <br />used by eac)i consumer during the preceding month,and at the same time furnish to said <br />consumer a statement showing the amount of gas used by him and the amount due by him for <br />said gas. <br />SECTION 7. Gas bills shall be in the hands of the treasurer on the 5th, day of <br />each month and the amount of the same shall be due and payable at t ,,,e office of the <br />treasurer not later than the tenth day of the month. It shall be the duty of the <br />treasurer to notify the Superintendent of the Gas Works of all delinquencies and the <br />Superintendent shall innediately cut off the connection of each delinquent and in no <br />case shall he again tuen on the connection unless notified to do so by the chairman of <br />thh Gas Cov.-Taitt;ec who shall receive notice from the treasurer that the delinquent bill <br />has been paid. RUNNING ON OR CROSSING RAIN STREET. <br />(Adopted January,12,1905. ) <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY TIT CITY COU''rCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE; -- <br />That it shall be unlawful to convey any traction or other heavy engine having flanged, <br />corrt.gated or bevelled w?ieels,on or across main street,without its being transported on a <br />temporary track of plank or oti,er suitable material,or being placed on another conveyance <br />that . will not damage the brick pavement. <br />2,0Any person violating the provisions of the foregoing lection shall,on conviction <br />thereof,,be fined not less t1lan fove dollars ($5.00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00) <br />for each and every offence. The fines shall be recoverable before the Police Justice of <br />the City of Charlottesville. <br />Y <br />3.
