4 AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THAT ALL STREET CARS BE EQUIPPED WITH PROPER BRAKES. (Adopted October 13,1904. ) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,That all cars running over the street car line upon Main Street shall,after thirty (30) days from the passage of this ordinance, be supplied with brakes, or other apparatus, sufficiently effective to stop the car upon a place along said line within a space of fifty (50) feet, no matter at what rate of speed the car be going. PENALTY. For a failure to observe this ordinance and keep all cars provided with such apparatus, the corporation or other person owning or leasing said cars,shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined from five dollars ($5.00) to fifty dollars ($50.00) for each day during which any car shall not be provided with the aforesaid apparatus. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,That if any person steal from the person of another money or other thing of value of less than five dollars ($5.00) , or if any __ commit simple larceny not from the person of another,of goods and chattels of less value than fifty dollars ($50.00), he shall be deemed guilty of petit larceny and fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one -hundred dollars ($100.00), or confined in jail not less than fifteen (15) days nor more than six (6) months. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, That if any person without permission of the owner pull down the fence of another,or any part thereof, and leave the same down, or without permission open or leave open the gate of another,he shall be fined not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more than ten dollars ($10,00). Presented October 20,1904; Approved October 20,1904. Mayor Signature. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISMENT OF PERSONS FURISHING CIGARETTES OR TOBACCO IN ANY FORM, PISTOLS ETC. ,TO MINORS. (Adopted October 13,1904.) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,That if any person sell, barter, give or furnish or cause to be sold, bartered, given or furnished to any minor under sixteen (16) years of age,cigarettes or tobacco in any form,or pistols, or dirks or bowie knives, having good cause to believe him or her to be a minor under sixteen (16) years of age, said person shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one-hundred dollars ($100.00).
