4 <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THAT ALL STREET CARS BE EQUIPPED WITH PROPER BRAKES. <br /> <br />(Adopted October 13,1904. ) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,That all cars running over the street car line <br /> <br />upon Main Street shall,after thirty (30) days from the passage of this ordinance, be <br /> <br />supplied with brakes, or other apparatus, sufficiently effective to stop the car upon a <br /> <br />place along said line within a space of fifty (50) feet, no matter at what rate of speed <br /> <br />the car be going. <br /> <br />PENALTY. (Adopted October 13,1904.) <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,That if any person sell, barter, give or furnish <br /> <br />or cause to be sold, bartered, given or furnished to any minor under sixteen (16) years <br /> <br />of age,cigarettes or tobacco in any form,or pistols, or dirks or bowie knives, having <br /> <br />good cause to believe him or her to be a minor under sixteen (16) years of age, <br /> <br />said person shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one-hundred <br /> <br />dollars ($100.00). <br /> <br />Presented October 20,1904.
