3 <br />AN ORDINANCE 3 EGULATING THE LAYII;G AND REPAIRING OF CELLAR DOORS ON STM70S OR SIDINIALKS. <br />(Adopted October- 13,1904). <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THEE CITY COUNCIL,That when the owner or occupant of any premises <br />upon which is a cellar,hole,area,,or vault opening updn any street or sidewalk,is notified I <br />by the layor,Street Commissioner or Police authorities that the covering of the same is <br />insecure or open, it shall be his duty to repair the same at once. <br />For his failure to do so after three (3) days notice he shall be fined not less <br />than one dollar ($1..00) nor More than ten dollars ($10.00) for each day he shall continue I <br />in default. Abd it shall be the dutir of the Street Commissioner to have the same <br />repaired and collect costs therfor from the owner or occupant. <br />Presented October 20,1904;Approved October 20,1904. <br />A <br />T�ayor, <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TER, LETTING OF CO??TRACTS BY COUNCIL COi7.'ITTEFS. <br />(Adopted October 13,1904 ). <br />BE IT ORDAIUED BY THF COMML OF THE CITY OF CHARLOT ITSVILLF, That from and after <br />the date of the approval of this ordinance by the llayor,no contract awarded by any <br />Committee of the City Council involving an amount exceeding two -hundred dollars 0200.00 <br />shall be binding on the City of Charlottesville until it has been approved by the City <br />Council. <br />Presented October 20,1904; Approved October 20,1904. <br />0ayor. <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATI11G TIT'' PASSING OF VF�fICLES O1` STPJT'T;TS OF TI'E CITY. <br />(Adopted October 13,1904. ) <br />BE IT ORDAI177D BY Me, CITY CoUINCIIL,That any person riding; or driving any horse, <br />bicycle automobile or other locomotive agency, and rieeting any other vehicle or loco - <br />mot ivo agency on any street , shall turn or drive to the right hand so that each person <br />may -pass the other witl,out collision or interference;and wren a vehicle or other loco- <br />motive agency is overtaken by any other vehicle or locomotive agency,the driver of the <br />former shall drive or turn to the right and the driver of the latter shall drive or <br />turn to the left until tl,e latter shall have passed. <br />PFI�ALTY.
