AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 332 OF THE CITY CODE; VIZ. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, THAT SECTION 332 OF THE CITY CODE <br /> <br />SEC. 332 - - GASOLINE, BENZINE, AND NAPTHA. <br /> <br />Gasoline, benzine or naptha may be lawfully kept or stored in the city for use or <br /> <br />sale under the restrictions and conditions following; <br /> <br />a. In drug, hardware, paint,oil stores or in garages -Ten gallons or less, if in <br /> <br />metallic calls free from leak to be drawn in daylight only, with no artificial light <br /> <br />in the room at any time. <br /> <br />b. In tailoring shops, printin- offices, or other establishments where the use, of <br /> <br />gasoline, benzine or naptha is inherent to the business- one gallon or less in approved <br /> <br />metal cans made for the purpose. <br /> <br />c. In tailoring shops, printing offices,and other establishments where the use of <br /> <br />gasoline, benzine or naptha is inherent to the business; -Not exceeding five gallons <br /> <br />in approved standard metal self-closing cans made for the purpose, no can to contain <br /> <br />mo re than one quart. <br /> <br />d. Outside of any building arid not less than tlqirty feet therefrom; -not exceeding <br /> <br />ten gallcns in close metallic cans. <br /> <br />e. Outside of any building, buried, and not less than five feet therefrom, <br /> <br />or <br /> <br />Under any building and not less ttiaan five feet below the surface of the ground; <br /> <br />Not exceeding three hundred (300) gallons in oafely constructed steel or iron tanks <br /> <br />arranged to fill and empty from the outside, the contents to be drawn by pumps only, <br /> <br />the system beim so arvanged that the pipes will drain back to the tank and so that <br /> <br />by no possible accident more than one gallon can escape into the building at any one <br /> <br />time. <br /> <br />(While all of these commodities may be kept or stored in one place the total <br /> <br />gallons must not exceed the maximum named in any case.) <br /> <br />Violation of any Provision of this section shall be Punished by a fine of not less <br /> <br />than twenty five dollars ($25.) for each offense. <br /> <br />This ordiralice shall be in force from its passage. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council March 9, 1911. RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, That section 23-1/2 of <br />the License Ordinanaces, approved April 15, 1910, be amended and re-enacted to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 23 1/2 CIDER. <br />(Over)
