No liquid designated as cider of any sort shall be sold by any person or firm <br /> <br />within the limits of the City of Cliarlottesville,Va. , unless the person or firm sell <br /> <br />or offering for sale the same shall have first paid a license tax of $10, which shall <br /> <br />be in addition to a merchant's license on purchases, and also obtained a permit <br /> <br />aut'norizing such sale, which pormit shall be signed by a majority of the Police __ <br /> <br />of the Council of said city and approved by the Mayor, and provided further, that if <br /> <br />in the, judgement of said committee the place of business of the person or firm operation <br /> <br />under such license and permit becomes disorderly, or the traffic under such license <br /> <br />and permit leads to disorder in the city,sueh license and permit may he ravoked <br /> <br />a majority of said committee, with the approval of the Mayor, after twenty-four hour; <br /> <br />notice to the holder thereof. <br /> <br />Any violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than <br /> <br />dollars ($5), nor more than fifty dollars ($50),or confinement in jail not, exceeds <br /> <br />three months,or both fine and imprisonn.ent,as in the discretion of the of the Police Justice <br /> <br />or the Court may seem proper. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall not apply to the sale of sweet cider sold by by the person <br /> <br />growing the fruit from which the cider is made. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council April 13, 1911. Presented and approved April 15, 1911 <br />President Signature Mayor Signature. <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANACE AMENDING SEXTION 25 OF THE LICENSE ORDINANCE OF 1907; <br /> <br />RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, That section 25 ,entitled "Common Criers" <br /> <br />of the License Ordinance of 1907, be amended and re-enacted to read as follows; <br /> <br />SECTION 25. COMMON CRIERS. <br /> <br />The specific license tax on common criers shall be twenty-five dollars ($25) <br /> <br />and he shall not as such crier,give any evidence of sale or title to to the purchaser. <br /> <br />This license my be pro rated for a period of not less.than six months. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council April 13, 1911 Presented and approved April 15, 1911. <br />President Signature. Mayor Signature. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 28,entitled "Daguerrean and photographic artists and <br /> <br />canvassers for copying pictures",of the License Ordinance of 1907; <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, That section 28 of the License <br /> <br />ordinance of 1907 entitled "Dagruerfean and photographic artists and canvassers for <br /> <br />coping pictures," be amended and re-enacted to read as follows; <br /> <br />SEC. 28. DAGUERREAN AND PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTISTS AND CANVASSERS FOR COPING PICTURES. <br /> <br />The specific license tax on any person engaged in business as a Dagruerfean or <br /> <br />photographic artist,shall be thirty dollars ($30). All persons canvassing this city <br /> <br />for copying pictures of any description shall pay a specific license tax of thirty <br /> <br />dollars ($30). Any itinerant daguerrean or photographic artist, or any person taking <br /> <br />orders in this city on the ticket or other plan for photographs to be delivered of <br /> <br />furnished by photographers of this city, shall pay a specific license tax of thirty <br /> <br />dollars ($30). kny license granted under this section shall not be trassfarable or <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council April 13, 1911 Presented and approved April 15, 1911. <br />President Signature.
