No liquid designated as cider of any sort shall be sold by any person or firm within the limits of the City of Cliarlottesville,Va. , unless the person or firm sell or offering for sale the same shall have first paid a license tax of $10, which shall be in addition to a merchant's license on purchases, and also obtained a permit aut'norizing such sale, which pormit shall be signed by a majority of the Police __ of the Council of said city and approved by the Mayor, and provided further, that if in the, judgement of said committee the place of business of the person or firm operation under such license and permit becomes disorderly, or the traffic under such license and permit leads to disorder in the city,sueh license and permit may he ravoked a majority of said committee, with the approval of the Mayor, after twenty-four hour; notice to the holder thereof. Any violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than dollars ($5), nor more than fifty dollars ($50),or confinement in jail not, exceeds three months,or both fine and imprisonn.ent,as in the discretion of the of the Police Justice or the Court may seem proper. This ordinance shall not apply to the sale of sweet cider sold by by the person growing the fruit from which the cider is made. Adopted by the Council April 13, 1911. AN ORDINANACE AMENDING SEXTION 25 OF THE LICENSE ORDINANCE OF 1907; RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, That section 25 ,entitled "Common Criers" of the License Ordinance of 1907, be amended and re-enacted to read as follows; SECTION 25. COMMON CRIERS. The specific license tax on common criers shall be twenty-five dollars ($25) and he shall not as such crier,give any evidence of sale or title to to the purchaser. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 28,entitled "Daguerrean and photographic artists and canvassers for copying pictures",of the License Ordinance of 1907; RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, That section 28 of the License ordinance of 1907 entitled "Dagruerfean and photographic artists and canvassers for coping pictures," be amended and re-enacted to read as follows; SEC. 28. DAGUERREAN AND PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTISTS AND CANVASSERS FOR COPING PICTURES. The specific license tax on any person engaged in business as a Dagruerfean or photographic artist,shall be thirty dollars ($30). All persons canvassing this city for copying pictures of any description shall pay a specific license tax of thirty dollars ($30). Any itinerant daguerrean or photographic artist, or any person taking orders in this city on the ticket or other plan for photographs to be delivered of furnished by photographers of this city, shall pay a specific license tax of thirty dollars ($30). kny license granted under this section shall not be trassfarable or Adopted by the Council April 13, 1911 Presented and approved April 15, 1911.
