<br />'-No liquid designated as cider of any sort shall be sold by any person or firm
<br />within the limits of the City of Cliarlottesville,Va. , unless the person or firm sell
<br />or offering for sale the same shall have first paid a license tax of $10, which s
<br />be in addition to a merchant's license on purchases, and also obtained a permit
<br />aut'norizing such sale, which pormit shall be signed by a majority of the Police C
<br />of the Council of said city and approved by the 'AV'ayor, and :,rovided furt ier,thtI if
<br />in the ,judgement of said committee the place of business of the person or firm 0pe4
<br />under such license and permit becomes disorderly,or the traffic under sucO license
<br />and permit leads to disorder in the city,sueh license and permit may he ravoked
<br />a majority of said committRe,with the approval of the Yayor,after twenty-four hour;
<br />notice to the holder thereof.
<br />Any violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than
<br />dollars ($5), nor more than fifty dollars ($50),or confinement in jail not, exceeds
<br />three months,or both fine and imprisonn.ent,as in the discretion of the P -lice
<br />or the Court may seem proper.
<br />This ordinance shall not apply to the sale of sweet cider sold by t',ie person
<br />growing the fruit from which the cider is made.
