conditions -- that is to say, each person making connection with the sewer main outside of <br /> <br />the corporate limits of the City of Charlottesville shall be required to pay ofr that <br /> <br />privilege to said City an annual tax of not less $10.00, or such other sum in excess <br /> <br />thereof as the City Council may fix from time to time - the privilege of such connection <br /> <br />to terminate upon thrity days notice from the city, or from the party enjoying the <br /> <br />privilege - provided that twhen the privilege is terminated such proportionate part of the <br /> <br />sewer tax as may at the time of termination have accrued shall be paid by the party <br /> <br />ceasing to enjoy the privilege. <br /> <br />3. If the annual sewer tax is not paid for thrity days after same is due the <br /> <br />connection of the party so in default may be cut off by the city in such way as it may <br /> <br />determine- the right of ingress and egress to and from the prorerty through which such <br /> <br />connection runs being allowed said city as incident to the granting of any application <br /> <br />for sewer connection outside the corporate limits. <br /> <br />And any connection made by other persons with a connecting pipe will be treated as <br /> <br />though such person had been original applicants for sewer connection, that is to say <br /> <br />before snaking an" such connection the person desiring the same make application to <br /> <br />the Council as hereinbefore stated, and no such connection will be recognized by the <br /> <br />City unless made by permission of the Council, If made without such permission the <br /> <br />city shall have the right to disconnect. And all persons having the right to connect <br /> <br />with connecting sowers shall be subject in all respects to the provisiors of this <br /> <br />ordinance so far as the same appurtenant thereto. <br /> <br />4 . As to all persons outside of the corporate limits who are now using the City main <br /> <br />for the disposition of sewage; by his own line of connection or by the use of a connection <br /> <br />made with such main by some other person's main, or in any other manner without any <br /> <br />compensation to the city, it is enacted that from the passage of this ordinance such <br /> <br />perisons shall --be required to conform in all respects to the provisions of this ordinance <br /> <br />and be governed by the same in every detail, as though they were enjoying the privilege <br /> <br />of sewer connection under this ordinance. In other words, the joyment of such persons <br /> <br />of sewer connection by sufferance is discontinuerd froili arid after the passage of this <br /> <br />ordinace. <br /> <br />5. The tax as herin provided for shall be collected in like manner as the other sewer <br /> <br />taxes are collected. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage. <br /> <br />Adopted June 15, 1911.
