AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 369 OF THE CITY CODE, AMENDED AND RE-ENACTED SEP. 8, 19_ <br /> <br />ENTILTED, SEC. 369 -- PRIVIES, ETC. -- WHEN CLEANED. <br /> <br />§f. The scavenger tax imposed in this ordinance shall be payanle quarterly in <br /> <br />advance to the City Treasurer, and collectable at the same time and in the same manner <br /> <br />as the water tax. The bill for said tax shall be noted quarterly on the printed <br /> <br />card or other notice by the Treasurer to water -takers, and th,o duty, of collecting and <br /> <br />accounting and of raking returns of dellnquents is imposedlion said officer who shall <br /> <br />hold the amount paid it sacred to expenditures for sanitation during hte year in which <br /> <br />it is collected, and at the end of the year cover any remainder into the mass of __ <br /> <br />revenues. <br /> <br />§g. All persons subject to the scavenger tax who are delinquent shall , after the __ <br /> <br />day of any quarter, be subject to a fine of not less than ten cents a day until the __ <br /> <br />and fine and paid. <br /> <br />Adopted June 8, 1911. Mayor Signature. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINAITCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 181 OF THE CITY CODE OF 1909, ENTILTED "AWNINGS" <br /> <br />SEC. 181. AWNINGS <br /> <br />Awning frames may be erected over the sidewalks, provided, the posts thereof are made <br /> <br />of iron not over two inches in diameter and rise from the curbstone, and there shall be <br /> <br />only one connecting bar to said posts which shall be at the top therof and shall be <br /> <br />elevated at leant 9 feet above the sidewalk, and all parts of such awings, including _ <br /> <br />side curtains and flap, shall clear the sidewalk at least 8 feet. <br /> <br />Swingting awnings may be constnicted and seclirely attached to the bulding, and <br /> <br />shall not extend beyond the curb line, and all parts of such awings, including the <br /> <br />curtains and flap, shall clear the sidewalk at least seven and one-half feet (7 1/2). <br /> <br />Any person violating any provision of this section shall be fined not more than __ <br /> <br />for each offense. <br /> <br />Adopted June 15, 1911. CITY CODE, ENTITLED: SEWER CONNECTION --HOW_ <br /> <br />SION FOR SECURED. <br /> <br />Be it enacted that section 456 of the Charlottesville City Code, entitled "Sewer <br /> <br />connections -- how permission for secured", be amended and re-enacted so as to read as <br /> <br />follows. <br /> <br />1. Application for permission to connect with any or lateral sewer must be in <br /> <br />writing and must be made by the owner of the property which it is proposed to connect <br /> <br />with the sewer sytem, or by his duly authorized agent; such application shall give <br /> <br />the name of the owner of the property, the location of the property, the name of the <br /> <br />person, firm or corporation who is to do the work, the nature of the liquid that is to <br /> <br />flow through such sewer, specifying whether it be household waste or other fluid, and <br /> <br />showing the proposed location of the house sewer on the property by a plan or drawing <br /> <br />the property or otherwise. <br /> <br />2. Application for sewter connection outside of the corprate limits shall be made <br /> <br />in writing to the Superintendent of Water & Sewer, by him reported to the Council and <br /> <br />when approved by the Council the applicant may proceed to make such connection as is <br /> <br />stated in his application. <br /> <br />But in all cases the approval of the Council shall be granted on the following <br />
