STT -KIR CONNECTTOUS. HOW PINUIISSION FOR S�,CURED: 1. Applivation for permission to connect withh any main or lateral sewer must be in writing and mast be made 'by the owner of the property which it is proposed to connect with tie sewer systwm, or by bis duly aut?iorized went, such application spall. give the name of t;�e owner of the property, the location of the property, the name of the person ,firm or corporation who is to do the l^►ork, t'ne natvr�? of t?le liquid which is to flow through such sevrer- , suecifyina whether it is household waste, or other fluid, and ehowing the proposed location of the house sewer on the property by a plan or drawing of the property or otherwise. 2► Applications for sewer connections outside of the corporate limits shall be in writing; to the superintendent of Water & Sewer:, and when approved by him the annlicant may proceid to make such connection as is stated in his application. But in all cases the approval of the Council shall be *ranted only or the followi.ni; conditions--t'nat is to say, each person making connection with the sewer main outside of the corporate limits of the City of Charlottesville shall be .required to pay for that privilege to said City an annual tax of n t less than ten dollars or such other sum in excess thereof as the City Council may fix from time to time, Vie privilege of such connection to terminate unor_ thirty days notice from the city or from tl^e parte snic�ring the privile�;e,provided t?iat when such privilege is terminated such proportionate part of the sewer tax as may at the time of termination have accrued shall be paid by the party ceasing to enjoy V? e privilege. 3. If the annual sewer tax is not paid for t1-irty days after the same is due tip connection of the party so in default mal be cut off by the cit -i► in suc'- way ae it may determine, the ri.7ht of ingress,'to^"and from the property through which such connection mans being allowed said city as ;nci-dent to the granting of and aprlication for sewer co:�nection outside of the corporate limits. .And any connection made by other persons with a connecting pipe will'be treated as though such persons had been original applicants for sewer connection --that is to say,before making any such► connection ttiie person desiring the same must make applica- tion to the Council as hereinbefore stated, and no such connection will be recogni- zed by the City ukless made by permission of the C uncil. If -made withuut such permission the City shall %gave the right to disconnect. And all persons having, the right to connect with. connectiin!7 sewers e�iall be. su?iject in all. respects to the provisions of this ordinance so far as the same are appurte- nant thereto. 4. As to all persons outside the corporate limits who are now using the City main for the disposition of sewar►e by his own line of connection or by the use of a connection made with such main by some other perbon's main,or in any other way without any compensation to the city, it is enacted teat from the passage of tMe ordinance such persons shall be required to conform in all respects to the provisions of ttil is ordinance and be governed by the same in every detail, as though they were enjoying the privile,7e of sewer connection under this ordinance. In other words, the enjoyment of such persons of sewer connection by sufferance is discontinued from and after the passage of this ordinance. 5. The tax as herein provided for allall be collected in like manner as the other sewer taxes are now collected. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage.
