<br />AN ORDINANCE To extend the corporate limits of the City of Charlottesville in pursuance of the
<br />provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of Virginia approved Narell 10,19041 enti,+

<br />amended by two several Acts aprrove:d respectively on t'^e 14th of "'arer,1906, and
<br />February 9th,1912.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of Charlottesville:
<br />1. Thatthe City of Charlottesville deems it desirable and hereby declares telat it
<br />desires to annex in the manner prescri'hed by law, certain territory of t1le County of
<br />Albemarle, Virginia, adjacent to the; present corporate limits of the City of Char•
<br />to ttesville.
<br />2. The terra tory of the County of Albemarle, rirginia, proposed to be Rcquired oy
<br />this ordinance may be accurately described by the following► metes and bounds: •.

<br />3. The Ci tv of Cra,r.lo ttesville hereby sets forth the necessity for andexpediencY °4
<br />the proposed annexation, the terms and conditions upon :vhicr the same is to be made
<br />and what it proposes for the future management of the annexed territory- tratis to s�
<br />(1) The territory within the prasont limits is closelyybuilt crowded and congested,
<br />and it is both _ypedi�ent and necessary that sufficient territory, suitable for buildil
<br />purposes/ may be added t''eret., so as to afford, at a moderate price, desirable loos
<br />for tl,e erection of commodious, realthfu, and convenient residences.
<br />(2) The territory proposed t o be anntxed is essentially part of the corTnunity °
<br />by the name of Charlottesville, thw dwell-jrs therein, with almost no exception, the
<br />transact ousiness in Charlottesville, receive, to a considerable extent, already
<br />bent.,fits of the :municipal conveniences of Charlottesville, in the way of streets)
<br />schools, fire and police protection, in addition to the advar_ta;►cs of being in such
<br />close p,ruximity to the established center of trade of Albemarle County that the'' 1W
<br />readily obtain such comforts and nec:!ssities as are not so easily obtained under a
<br />different condition, and being so situated they receive these benefits without
<br />furnishing material contribution to the support of the municipality which furnisb`e
