A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE WESTERN UNION TELEGRAPH COMPANY <br /> <br />IRVING-WAY-HILL COMPANY TO ERECT ELECTRIC SIGNS IN FRONT OF THEIR PLACE OF <br /> <br />BUSINESS. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING, <br /> <br />That permits be granted to the Western Union Telegraph Company and to Irving-Way- <br /> <br />still Company to erect electric signs in front of their places of business, as <br /> <br />follows; To the Western Union Telegraph Company a flexlume electric sign 72 in. <br /> <br />long by 36 inches high, and to Irving -Way -Hill Company an electric sign three feet <br /> <br />wide. These perrits are granted with the understanding that either of teem shall <br /> <br />be removed at direction of the City. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted by Common Council Feb.5,1917. <br />Ayes. Ayes; Bolling, Harris, <br />Timberlake and Walker <br /> <br />Mayor Signature. <br />City Clerk Signature. <br />President Common Council Signature. <br />President Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Presented and approved Feb. 13,1917. <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SFC. 582-1/2 OF THE CITY CODE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN, THE COMMON COUNCIL CUNCURRING, <br /> <br />That Sec. 582-1/2 of the City Code, entilted "Dogs -- Not allowed to run at large, be <br /> <br />amended and , reenacted to read as follows: Any person who shall allow his dog, <br /> <br />puppy, or bitch at large upon the streets shall be subject to a fine of not less <br /> <br />than $1.00 nor more than $5.00 and any dog, puppy, or bitch shall be impounded <br /> <br />by the police until redeemed by the payment of $1.00. If not redeemed within <br /> <br />five days the dog, puppy, or bitch shall be put to death. Provided, however, that <br /> <br />this ordinance shall not apply to a dog, puppy, or bitch wearing, a leather, metallic <br /> <br />or other durable collar bearing the owner's name, plainly engraved, cut or mounted <br /> <br />thereon, and to which is attached the City license tag for the year. This <br /> <br />ordinanee shall take effect the 1st day of March, 1917. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Board of Aldermen.
