A RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE $2,325, to lay Gas Mains on Belmont:

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEREMN COMMON COUNCIL CONCURRING, That $2,325
<br />
<br />be and is hereby appropriated to lay 2200 feet of 6inch gas main on Monticello
<br />
<br />Road and Monticnllo Avenue, supplementing 2 inch mains on said streets.

<br />ASSICIATION, AND PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF THE EXPENSES:

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN, THE COMMON COUNCIL CONCURRING,
<br />
<br />That this body elect Mr. John L. Livers to represent the Board of Aldermen at the
<br />
<br /> sessions of the Committee of the Virginia State Legislature during its meetings
<br />
<br />at the State Good Roads Association at Norfolk, Va, on the 16th, 17th and 18th
<br />
<br />of this month and that Mr. A.G.Burnett and Mr. Wm. H. Wood be selected by this
<br />
<br />Board to represent the City of Charlottesville together with the City Manager
<br />
<br />Engineer, S. A. Stecker, and to cooperate with the representative of the Council,
<br />
<br />Mr. W.F. Souder, Jr. , and that treir expenses be defrayed out of the City Treasury.
<br />
<br />The purpose of the committees appointment to secure for this section and the
<br />
<br />City of Charlottesvilla the East and mast and the North and South highways.

<br />A RESULUTION ENDORSING ROUTES FOR THE EAST & WEST AND THE NORTH & SOUTH HIGHWAYS.
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING,
<br />
<br />That whereas it is purposed and desired that an East and gest and North and
<br />
<br />South Highway be established through the commonwealth, and whereas Charlottesville
<br />
<br />is geographically situatad in the central part of the commonwealth, with good hotel
<br />
<br />and garage facilities, and having points of historic interest such as the University
<br />
<br />of Virginia and Monticello to attract tourists using these highways, be it
<br />
<br />therefore RESOLVED, That we most heartily indorse the passage of the proposed East
<br />
<br />and west highway from Staunton to Richmond by way of Charlottesville, Gordonsville ,
<br />
<br />Louisa, Cuckoo, Montpeliar and Glan Allen and the passage of the proposed North and
<br />
<br />South highway from Washington to Danville through the Counties of Alexandria, Prince
<br />
<br />William, Fauquier, Culpeper, Orange, Albemarle, Nelson, Campbell and Pittsylvania,
<br />
<br />
