An Ordinance to prohibit Betting, Wagering and Gaming. <br /> <br />Be it Ordained by the Common Council of Charlottesville, the Board of Aldermen <br /> <br />concurring, That it shall be unlawful for any person to bet, wager, or play at any <br /> <br />game for money. Any one violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be <br /> <br />guilty of a middemeanor and upon conlriction thereof scall be fined not exceeding <br /> <br />one hundred dollars or imprisoned in jail not exceeding sixty days, either or both. <br /> <br />Adopted by the common Council July 10, 1919. <br />Ayes: Elliott, Forrest, Gleason, Huyett, <br />Smith, Twyman and Via. <br />Concurred in by Board of Aldermen July 16, 1919; <br />Ayes: Patton, Timberlake Walker and Wheeler. <br /> <br />Presented and approved July 18, 1919. <br /> <br />Mayor Singature. <br />City Clerk Signature. <br />President Board of Aldermen Singature. <br />President Commom Council Signature. <br /> <br /> <br />A Resolution appropriating $200. to defray City's part of expenses in entertaining <br /> <br />soldiers on July 4th 1919: <br /> <br />Resolved, by the Cormnon Council of Charlottesville, the Board of Aldermen Concurring, <br /> <br />That $200. or so much hereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby <br /> <br />appropriated to pay the City's portion of the expenses of the entertainment given on <br /> <br />the 4th of July, to welcome our soliders home. <br /> <br />Adopted by the common Council July 10, 1919. <br />Ayes: Elliott, Forrest, Gleason, Huyett, <br />Smith, Twyman and Via. <br />Concurred in by Board of Aldermen July 16, 1919; <br />Ayes: Patton, Timberlake, Walker and Wheeler. <br /> <br />Presented and approved July 18, 1919. <br /> <br />Mayor Singature. <br />City Clerk Signature. <br />President Board of Aldermen Singature. <br />President Commom Council Signature. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A Resolution appropriating $550. to aid in defraying the expenses of the City Fire <br /> <br />Company in entertaining the State Firemen's Convention. <br /> <br />Resolved, by the Common Council of Charottesville , the Board of Aldermen concurring, <br /> <br />That the sum of $550. be and is hereby appropriated to the Charlottesville Fire <br /> <br />department for the entertainment of the State Fire Convention which convenes in this <br /> <br />City August 27th and 28th. <br /> <br />Adopted by the common Council August 14, 1919. <br />Ayes: Elliott, Forrest, Gleason, Huyett, <br />Twyman and Via. <br />Concurred in by Board of Aldermen August 18, 1919; <br />Ayes: Patton, Timberlake and Wheeler. <br /> <br />Presented and approved August 18, 1919. <br /> <br />Mayor Singature. <br />City Clerk Signature. <br />President Board of Aldermen Singature. <br />President Commom Council Signature. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
