8. That the Mayor, whenever he deems it advisable or when requested by the

<br />Chief, appoint special officers whose services may be needed to restrain or punish
<br />
<br />violations of liquor laws or any other of the laws and that these special policmen
<br />
<br />serve in citizens clothes, if necessary;
<br />
<br />9. That the salary range of patrolmen shall range from a minimum of $75.00 per
<br />
<br />month to a maximum of $110.00 with a view to grading compensation to the experience
<br />
<br />and efficiency of the several members of the force and in order to stimulate their
<br />
<br />ambition;
<br />
<br />10. That in grading the competence and efficiency of employees of the police
<br />
<br />department their ability or inability to handle a motor car shall be considered,
<br />
<br />RESOLVED, That each officer or patrolman, when going off duty, shall enter in
<br />
<br />writing oil a book kept for the purpose a statement of any fact or facts requiring
<br />
<br />the attention of a successor, and that all officers and patrolmen, when goin on duty,
<br />
<br />shall read these entries.
<br />
<br />RESOLVED FURTHER, That our representatives in the next session of the of the Legislatature
<br />
<br />be requested to secure an amendment to the law in regard to appeals from the justice
<br />
<br />court providing that when appeals are taken to the higher court and not proaacuted
<br />
<br />within sixty days from date of appeal they shall be remanded to the justice who
<br />
<br />gave the judgement, and it shall be his duty to execute the judgement as originally
<br />
<br />
