AN ORDINANCE REMITTING LICENSE TAX ON CARNIVALS FOR BENEFIT OF CITY FIRE COMPANY.

<br />BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN CONCURRING;

<br />That the City Fire Company be permitted to contract with a reputable carnival
<br />
<br />company for an exhibition in this City in the sping of 1922, with the remission
<br />
<br />of the City taxes and water taxes, provided said show is properly conducted.
<br />

<br />That the Finance Committee be and is hereby authorized to borrow from the

<br />Peoples National Bank not to excead $40,000 from the National Bank of Charlottesville
<br />
<br />not to exceed $40,000; from the Farmers & Merchants National Aank not to exceed $15,000,
<br />
<br />and from the Commerce National Bank not to exceed $15,000 during the next eight months
<br />
<br />from date of passage and approval of this resolution to meet current needs of the City,
<br />
