It shall be unlawful for a <br />ny <br />person to engage in the handling, preparation, sale or dispensing of any .foodstuffs or be <br />employwe dt any f6of establisriment during the time a case of infectious, contagious or <br />communicable didease exists at 1�he place where such person resides, or during the time <br />that such place is quarantined or threeafter until the quarantine shall have been mer <br />moved, except with the permission of the health Officer. It small be unlawful for any <br />propeietor, manager or other person in charge of a food establishment to employ any <br />person suffering from any of the diseases previously mentioned, or known to be a <br />carrier of the same, or residing at a place where such disease exists. Violation of <br />the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine not less than twenty-five <br />dollars for each offense and each day shall constitute a separate offense. <br />14. PHYSICAL EXAPdINATION Oi' FOOD HANDLERS REQUIRED: The Health ')fficer shall be <br />empowered to order any physical or laboratory eaaminat ion of any employee at any time <br />that may be deemed necessary to determine whether a communicable di:;ease exists. <br />15. SPOILED DIS USED OR ADULTERATED FOOD: All canned foods must be rem)ved from <br />their original container as soon as the cans are opened and shall thereafter be <br />kept only in glass, china or crockery ves:3els. Whenever any health, sanitary, police, <br />or other agent or officer of the Health Department of the City shall find in any food 3 <br />establishment or other place any rotten, diseased, unwhol©some, adulterated or misbrandibd <br />foodstuff, substance or articles intended for human food or drink, it ohall be the, duty <br />of such officer or agent to notify the owner, manager, or person in charge ofsuch <br />articles, place or vehicle to remove such food stuffs or articles to some proper place <br />and destroy the same in the presence of said officer or agent, or such officer or agent <br />may seize such f)ddstuff or article and destroy it, provided that said Oficer or vent <br />may retain any amount desired for examination or use as evidence in any prosecution under <br />this ordinance. It shall further be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, after <br />notification by the health Officer to offer for sale or sell vegetables that have been <br />grown on soil that has been impregnated or fertilized with human exorement within a <br />period of twelve month.3 from time of such fertilization. All containers in which spoiled <br />food has been placed be thorout7hly cleansed before a second use. <br />16. MEATS HANDLING OF FOOD :STC.
