<br />The City I42anager shall appoint an inspector of dumbing, whose salary shall
<br />be fixed by Council, and his term of Office by the City Manager, under whose
<br />control ht shall be.
<br />The Inspector of Plumbing shall see that the 2lumbing laws of the City are
<br />enforced and he shall perform such other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned
<br />to him.
<br />the Inspector of Plumbing shall not engage in the business of plumbing or
<br />pipe fitting, or any other business pertaining thereto, or to be interested directly
<br />or indirectly in any firm or corporation engaged in ani, one or more of said lines
<br />of business, during his term of office.
<br />He shall inspect all buildings in course of erection, alteration or re-
<br />pair, when the drain, soil, waste, or vent pipes are run in the building, they
<br />shall be left uncovered and the plumber shall report the ;same at once to the
<br />Office of ,he inspector of i1umbing, for inspection and again when fixtures are
<br />placed in position and the work completed.
<br />Upon notification by the plumber, the inspector shall promptly examine all
<br />the work and shall condemn and order the removal of any defective or illegal
<br />material or any plumbing or drainage failing to comply with this Ordinance.

<br />The whole system of plumbing shall be prepared for the inspector after a
<br />thorough test of same b, plumber, by filling; all soil, drain, waste -and vent
<br />pipes with water to the highest points. Upon a complete arid. satisfactory inspection
<br />of any work the inspector ohall ,rant a certificate of approval. In cases where
<br />it is not practicable to test with water, the system may be subjected to an air
<br />pressure of five pounds per square inch for purposes of testing and inspection.
<br />When con, l i t ions require a portion of the drainage system to be tested pre-
<br />vious to the testing of the whole system, a 'rest 'lee must be inserted on the drain
<br />or soil stack for purposes of testing the balance of the work.
<br />No ttests will be required for final inspection.
<br />A fee o C one dollar ®hall be paid by the plumber to the inspector for each
<br />permit issued for connection with the �;ity sewer and an additional fee of twenty-
<br />five conte as an inspection fee shall be paid, where inspection is required, for
<br />1, each fixture installed, roughed in, 1•eplaced or removed from one place to another,
<br />in any building within the city and the receipts of these fees shall be endorsed upon
<br />•
<br />the application and paid to the city treasurer, Outside of the City, the fees shall
<br />be double the foregoing, and are to be paid by the persons making application for
<br />inspection of work, over which the Inppector has no jurisdiction.
<br />For the purpose )f determing fees the word "fixture" will be construed to mean
<br />each Water Closet, ,.ink, Bath 'tub, Shower Bath, l,abatory, Urinal, 19ash `frays and every
<br />other water using apparatus which is separately connected to the Waste or Drainage
<br />System through a trap.
<br />Every tenant or owner of lot or tenement in which plumbing connects with City
<br />Water exists, shall allow the inspector to enter such lot or tenement to make in- .
<br />Speetlon and any person refusing such admittance shall be subject to the penalities
<br />Of this Orid nance.
