It <br />1470 <br />371 <br />vented as directed by inspector of Plumbing. No traps are to be less than 1.1" in;,ide <br />diameter or 11" if they are brass traps. <br />have trap screws. <br />All traps 2" and less in diameter are to <br />Lead Waste pipes Lire to be of weight known in commerce as "D". traps and <br />bends to be of weights known as ,3tandard. <br />2errules are to be of brass, extra heavy and four inches long. <br />Cleanouts shall be of acceptable material and construction. <br />Brass pipe for traps and fixture connections to be not less than 17 gauge. <br />Vertical waste pipes to receive discharge from not more than 8 sinks, <br />baths, lavatories, wash trays or similar fixtures shall be not less than 2" diameter <br />and with branches not less than 1111. <br />Connections between cast iron and lead pipes to be made with brass ferrules <br />wiped onto lead pipe and calked into cast iron hubs. <br />Connections between cast iron and screwed pipe to be made with cast iron <br />fittings tapped and threaded or with screw pipe couplings calked into cast iron hubs. <br />Connections between screwed pipe and lead pipe to be made with brass solder- <br />ing nipples, wiped onto lead pipe. <br />Connections between lead waste pipes brass waste pipes and traps and lead <br />pipes to be made with whiped joints and between brass waste pipes and traps and screwed <br />pipe to be made with recessed sweat bushings, or metal to metal ground joint connections. <br />Packed slip joint connections will be permitted on the sewer side of traps. <br />Lead drum traps to receive waste from Bath tubs, or bath tubs and lavatories, <br />,need not be back vented when within 4 ft. of lain waste pipe and where no water closets <br />are located above such bath tub or lavatories. in cases where this distance exceeds <br />4 ft the Lead drum trap must be. bacit vented by 11" vent pipe. <br />Cellar drains and area drains will be permitted when they are connected <br />with an approved back water trap in connection with a deep seal trap. <br />Drains into which the washings from automobiles of other liquids or <br />substances of such nature as would be likely to stop up the sewers into which such <br />drain empties, must be properly constructed and operated sand trap; and no person, firm <br />or corporation shall discharge into the sewers any substances of such nature as will <br />stop up an;; sewer within the City. <br />Cellar drains and sand traps will not be requi, ed to be vented when within <br />fifteen feet of main or branch wac3te pipe, which extends through roof. <br />Where a fixture is allowed to discharge into an open drain, a trap, but, no <br />vent, will be necessary, but treivaste pipe must not exceed fifteen feet in length un - <br />.16 <br />less approved by the Inspect o . <br />'he fixtures must be connected with sewer where sewer is available. <br />'48, DOWNSPOUT CONNEC' 10115. <br />The connection of downspout: <br />
