394 <br />(e) the pity Electrician shall also descharge any other duties as may here <br />after be assigned to him. <br />Sec. 32. Licenses to do electrical wiring. <br />Any person, firm or fforporation doing electric wiring or installing appli. <br />cancel for heat, light or power, shall procure a license from the �Jommissioner of neVenue, <br />upon the payment of such license fee as may be ordained by the Council, and after pass_ <br />ing an examination by the City Electrician for which examination a fee of X1.06 shall <br />be paid to the City „lee tri cian, who shall pay the same to the City 'treasurer, and give <br />a receipt "o the person, firm or corporation paying the same, Whenever such examination <br />has been satisfactorily passed, the City Electrician shall certify that fact to the <br />Commissioner of Revenue. All persons, firms or corporations desiring to take out license <br />shall, as a conidtion precedent, give bond to the City in the penalty df three hundred <br />dollars, binding such proposed license to indemnify and save harmless the City of <br />Charlottesville from all expense and davage caused by any negligence or detective or <br />inadequate -ork done under his license; and conditioned further that he will conform to <br />all the requirements of the City of Charlottesville governing electrical construction <br />work by such license shall be defective work and he shall fail to revise same within thirty <br />daysafter written notice to do so from the City �Jectrician, the said City :;lectrician <br />shall have such work revises, and to costs of saidrevision, and all the costa and expenses <br />incurred in the collection thereof, may be recovered on the bond, Any person, firm or <br />corporation doing electric wiring or ino-talling appliances for heat, light or power <br />without license, shall be fined not less than five dollars, nor more than ten dollars, <br />for each offense, and every day on which work is done without license shall be a serarate <br />offense. <br />Licenses granted under this section shall terminate on the thirtð of <br />April next ensuing after they are issued, and shall be renewable on the payment of <br />license fee and execution of bond without examination. <br />Sec. 33. Permits for wiring ofbuildings. <br />No alteration shall be made in the wiring of any blilding nor shall any <br />radio sets, <br />building be wired for electric light, heat or po:-Iler/withou t first making an aprlication <br />on forms provided therefor to the City Manager and upon approval )f such application <br />by the City "lectrician a written permit therefor shall be issued, provided, that in <br />every case of refusal to issue a permit by the City electrician to the City Manager <br />whose decision in th inatter shall be final. Upon the (;ompletion of the wiring or <br />alteration of wiring of any building for light, heat or power, it shall be the duty of <br />such person, firm or corporation doing tilesame to notify the City Electrician and to <br />obtain frora him a certificate of satisfactory inspection. Pf the City Electrician re <br />fuses such certificate <br />the <br />person, <br />firm or corporation may <br />appeal to the <br />City manager <br />for permission to use <br />said <br />wiring <br />and the decision of the <br />City Manager in <br />the case shall be <br />final. <br />Any person, firm or corporation violi.tting any of the prov Bions of this <br />Ordinance shall be fined not less than one dollar nor more than five dollars dor each <br />offense, and everyday such wiring or alteration therein or use thereof without such per- <br />mit or certificate of satisfactory inspection shall be deemed a separate offense. <br />Sec. 34. Zees afor permits. <br />The fmllowing fees shall be paid to the City Electrician for each permit issued <br />by the City Electrician for in8ta:._lation or alteration of heat, light or power wiring, <br />
