and strict compliance with the consitution and statutes of the State of Virginia including the lottesville and that the the charter of the City of Char+/ total indebtedness of the City of Charlottesville, in- _ this bond and the series of which it forms a part, does not exceed any limitation prescribed by the consitution and statutes of the State of Virginia, including the Charter of the said City, but is within every debt and other limit prescribed by law, and the faith credit and resources of the said City of Charlottesville are hereby irrovocably pledged for the punctual payment of the principal and interest of this bond according to its terms, This bond is exempt from taxation by the City of Charlottesville, for its purposes, and the coupons hereto attached are receivable at and after maturity in payment of all taxes, debts and demands due the City of Charlottesville. Bond No. $25.00 THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE VIRGINIA , will pay on the 1st day of December, 1924, to the bearer hereof, at the office of the Treasurer of said City, or at the National Park Bank of New York twenty-five dollars, the semi-annuall installment of int- erect on the above bond. This coupon is receivable for all taxes debts and demands due the City of Charlottesville. Issued December 1, 1923. City Treasurer, The said bonds which bear the corporate seal of the City of Charlottes- ville shall be signed by the Mayor, the Clerk of the Council and the Treasurer of said City and the coupons shall be authenticated by the lithographedfac simile of the signature of the City Treasurer which is hereby declared to be in all respects equivalent to the manual sign- ing thereof by said Treasurer. While the said bonds or any of them shall remain outstanding tend unpaid there shall annually be levied on all taxable property of the City wt a tax sufficient to pro- vide for the payment of the principal and interest as the same become due and payable - That the Finance Committee of the City be and is hereby authorized to proceed to sell the whole of said issue or any part thereof and deliver the same to the pur- chaser, Said Finance Committee is given absolute power to act in behalf of the City in sell- ing said bonds or any part thereof.
