40-1 <br />guardian or committee, requiring him to show cause why such building or structure shaould <br />not be removed or put in safe condition. <br />If after a hearing of the case it shall appear that the building or strud'ture <br />is in such a condition or situation as to endanger the lives of persons, or to endanger other <br />property adjadent thereto, the Police Justice shall require such building or structure <br />to be removed or made safe within a reasonable time. If such bui dine, or structure shall <br />not be removed or made safe within the time specified in the order, the Police Justice <br />shall summon such owner, or his agent if he be a non-resi dant, o:, his guardian or <br />committee, to show cause why such owner should not be fined for his failure to comply with <br />said order, and to show cause why the building or structure should not be removed or made <br />safe atthe ' expense of the o.�ner thereof. <br />If at such hearing no sufficient cause be shown for failure to comply with the ssid <br />order, the owner of said building or structure shall be fined not less than ten dollars, <br />nor mo re than twenty-five dollars ifor each day his failure to comply with such order <br />has continued, and the police Justice may further require such building; or structure <br />to be removed or made safe at the expense of tree owner thereof. <br />All ordinances or resolutions or parts thereof inconflict herewith are hereby <br />repealed. <br />This ordinance shall b,:. effective on and after June 1st, 1924. <br />Adopted by the Council May 19, 1924. <br />Ayes, Brown, 1:1orris & Joachim, Noes None. <br />I � <br />46 <br />CLERK <br />P S EiJT. <br />TURNING ON MAIN STREET AMENDING SECTION 17 of TRAFFIC ORDINANCE. <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesgille that Section <br />17 of the ".11raffic ordinance adopted August 1, 1921 be amended and reGenacted to read <br />as follows: No vehicle shall make a turn within the congested district except at street <br />intetsections and provided further that no vehicle shall make a turn on Main Street <br />between 7th Street vast and the West side of Lewis and Clark Monument. <br />This Ordinance shall be effective August 1, 1924. <br />r <br />Adopted by the Cduncil July 21, 1924. <br />Ayes, Brown, Morris and Joachim.
