COLLECTION OF TAXES: <br /> <br />SECTION 86 OF THE CODE AMENDED. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br /> <br />Section 86, of t he City Code of 1909 be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />The treasurer shall collect all taxes, including license taxes from <br /> <br />persons, firms and corporations engaged in occupations, businesses, and professions. He <br /> <br />shall have the right to appoint one or more deputies, to be approved by the Corporation <br /> <br />Court for whose acts and doings he and his sureties shall be responsible. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective January lst, 1926. <br />Adopted by the Council December 21, 1925. <br />Ayes, Brown and Joachim, Noes None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 99 OF THE CODE REMALED, COLLECT ION OF GAS AND WATZR BILLS: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY the Council of the City of Charlottesville thtt <br /> <br />Section 99 of the Code of 1909 entitled, "Collection of Gas and 'Vater Bills" be and the <br /> <br />same is hereby repealed. This ordinance shall be effective January 1st, 19260 <br /> <br />Adopted by the Coungil( December 21, 1925. <br /> <br />Ayes, Joachim and Brown, Noes none. <br /> <br />TREASURER'S COMPENSATION: <br /> <br />SECT ION 103, of the City Code Amended. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br /> <br />Section 103 of the City Code of 1909 be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />From the lst day of January 1926 the Treasurer shall received an <br /> <br />annual salary of $3,000.00 payable in equal monthly installments as his compensation <br /> <br />for all services rendered the City whether now or hereafter requited of him including the <br /> <br />collection of school levies, <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 21, 1925. <br /> <br />Ayes, Joachim and Brown, Noes none. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br />OFFICE OF CITY COLLECTOR ESTABLISHED-- CITY COLLECTOR TO COLLECT ALL REVENUES OF THR CITY <br /> <br />EXCEPT TAXES AND LICENSE TAXES - OTHER DUTIES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Council of the City of Charlottesville as <br /> <br />FIRST: ESTABLISHMENT OF OFFICE: That the office of City Collector <br /> <br />SECOND: ELECTION AND COMPENSATION: That a City Collection be elected <br /> <br />by the Counoll to take office January lst, 1926, and to hold office at the will of the <br /> <br />Count ile His compensation shall be fixed by the Council. He shall furnish such bond as <br /> <br />is required of him by the Council. He shall appoint such deputies as may be necessary <br /> <br />subject to the approval of the Cit Manager. Such deputies shall give bond as required <br /> <br />by the Council. <br /> <br />THRID DUTIES: <br /> <br />From and after the 1st day of January, 1926, under the <br /> <br />direction on and supervision of the City Manager the City Collector shall collect all <br /> <br />revenues of the City and monies from persons owing the same to the City except taxes.
