COLLECTION OF TAXES: SECTION 86 OF THE CODE AMENDED. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 86, of t he City Code of 1909 be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: The treasurer shall collect all taxes, including license taxes from persons, firms and corporations engaged in occupations, businesses, and professions. He shall have the right to appoint one or more deputies, to be approved by the Corporation Court for whose acts and doings he and his sureties shall be responsible. This ordinance shall be effective January lst, 1926. Adopted by the Council December 21, 1925. Ayes, Brown and Joachim, Noes None. Clerk Signature. President Signature. SECTION 99 OF THE CODE REMALED, COLLECT ION OF GAS AND WATZR BILLS: BE IT ORDAINED BY the Council of the City of Charlottesville thtt Section 99 of the Code of 1909 entitled, "Collection of Gas and 'Vater Bills" be and the same is hereby repealed. This ordinance shall be effective January 1st, 19260 Adopted by the Coungil( December 21, 1925. Ayes, Joachim and Brown, Noes none. TREASURER'S COMPENSATION: SECT ION 103, of the City Code Amended. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 103 of the City Code of 1909 be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: From the lst day of January 1926 the Treasurer shall received an annual salary of $3,000.00 payable in equal monthly installments as his compensation for all services rendered the City whether now or hereafter requited of him including the collection of school levies, Adopted by the Council December 21, 1925. OFFICE OF CITY COLLECTOR ESTABLISHED-- CITY COLLECTOR TO COLLECT ALL REVENUES OF THR CITY EXCEPT TAXES AND LICENSE TAXES - OTHER DUTIES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Council of the City of Charlottesville as FIRST: ESTABLISHMENT OF OFFICE: That the office of City Collector SECOND: ELECTION AND COMPENSATION: That a City Collection be elected by the Counoll to take office January lst, 1926, and to hold office at the will of the Count ile His compensation shall be fixed by the Council. He shall furnish such bond as is required of him by the Council. He shall appoint such deputies as may be necessary subject to the approval of the Cit Manager. Such deputies shall give bond as required by the Council. THRID DUTIES: From and after the 1st day of January, 1926, under the direction on and supervision of the City Manager the City Collector shall collect all revenues of the City and monies from persons owing the same to the City except taxes.
