This Ordinance shall be effective January 1, 1926. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 7, 1925. <br /> <br />Ayes, Morris and Brown, Noes None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br /> <br />BAILIFF AND CLERK FOR CIVIL AND POLICE JUSTICE, HIS SALARY. <br /> <br />BE IT OEDAINED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of Charlottesville that the <br /> <br />Cigil and Police Justice anall appoint a Bailiff who shall also be clerk of his court. <br /> <br />The Bailiff and clerk shall perform such duties as are required of him by law. He shall <br /> <br />be paid a salary of $50.00 per month. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective January 1, 1926. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 7, 1925. <br /> <br />Ayes, Morris & Brown, Noes None. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THS, SALE AND DISPOSAL OF BY-PRODUCTS FROM THE CITY <br /> <br />GAS PLANT. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that all coke, <br /> <br />gas tar and other by products for the City Gas Plant be disposed of by the City Purchas- <br /> <br />ing Agent, or other official designated by the City Manager, at such a price as in the <br /> <br />judgement of the said Purchasint Agent or other official, is justified by the existing <br /> <br />market. <br /> <br />All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby re- <br /> <br />pealed. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 7, 1925. <br /> <br />Ayes, Morris & Brown, Noes None. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 70 OF THE BUILDING CODE AS RELATES TO THE <br /> <br />INSTALLATION AND USE OF ELECTRIC SIGNS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that section <br /> <br />70 of the Building Code be amended by adding the following: <br /> <br />(5a) Circular or cylindrical signs of not less than 5 inches nor more than <br /> <br />10 inches in diameter, and not greater ttian 5 feet, nor less than 21/2 feet in height (or <br /> <br />length) will be permitted. A sign of this type shall have within it at least one.(1) 100 <br /> <br />Watt light, or the equivalent in smaller lights. <br /> <br />(8a) Circular or cylindrical signs erected under the authority of this <br /> <br />ordinance and over hanging any sidewalk, street, avenue or alley must be placed at least <br /> <br />61/2 feet above the sidewalk, street, avenue -or alley, and at a distance not greater than <br /> <br />18 inches from the building, or wall, measuring from the extreme projection of the sign <br /> <br />to the nearest face of tree wall or building. <br /> <br />The above described signs are permitted by this ordinance subject to all <br /> <br />the conditions, requirements and penalties provided in said section 70 of the Building <br /> <br />Code, as only such parts of said Section in conflict herewith are repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 7, 1925. <br />Ages, Morris and Brown, Noes None. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br />
