If any part or parts, sections, sub -sections, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any rea- son declared to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining por- tions of this ordinance. Section 74. Short Title.—This ordinance may be cited as the Uniform Traffic Ordinance. II. REPEAL--That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed. III. This ordinance shall be in force from its passage. HADEN Clerk of Council PARKING VEHICLES ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Charlottesville as follows: 1. Except as authorized in this ordinance no vehicle shall be parked except parallel with and close to the right hand curb and in no instance shall such vehicles be parked less than four feet apart, nor with the rear wheels further than six inches from the curb. 2. No vehicle shall be parked on Main Street from Seventh Street East to Preston Ave., be- tween 7 A. M. and 7 P. M. for a period of more than thirty minutes. 3. No vehicle shall be parked on any of the streets of the City for a period of more than one hour between twelve o'clock midnight and six A. M. 4. Parking is permitted only on the designated side of the following streets: On the East side of Rugby Road from Main Street to a point opposite the entrance to Way- side Place; on the North side of Linden Ave., from Rugby Road to the northern end of Univer- sity Way; and on the East side of University Way. 5. Diagonal parking may be permitted by the police department as follows: On the South side of Water Street; on Third Street East between Water Street and Market Street; on Market Street West of Seventh Street, r.ast: and on West Main Street between Fifteenth Street and Elliewood Avenue. Every person convicted of violation of this or- dinance shall for the first conviction thereon be punished by a fine of not less than $2.50; for a second such conviction within one year such per- son shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00. Upon a third or subsequent conviction within one year such person shall be punished by a fine of not less than $10.00. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in so far as the same are in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Adopted by the Council July 19, 1926 A Copy Teste : H. A. HADEN Clerk of Council AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTILTED "PARKING VEHICLES ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY ENACTED JULY 19, 1926 Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that an ordinance entitled "PARKING BEHICLES ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY ENACTED JULY 19," 1926, be ameded and reenacted so as to reas as follows: 1. Expept as autliorized in this ordinance no vehicle shall be parked except paralled with and close to the richt rand cubb on two way streets and the left hand curb on one way street and in no instance shall such vehicles be parked less than four feet apart, nor with the near wheels further than six inches from the curb. 2. No vehicle shall be parked on Main Street from Seventh Street East to Preston Ave., between 7 A. 11. and 7 P. M. for a period of more than thirty minutes 3.
