All ORDINANCE AMENDING THAT PORTION OF SECTION 29 OF THE BUILDING CODE ENTITLED "FIRE <br /> <br />LIMITS" WHICH RELATES TO THE STORAGE AND SALE OF GASOLINE NAPTHA. <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br /> <br />such of section 2, of the Building Code entitled "Fire Limits" as relates to the storage and sale of <br /> <br />gasoline, benzine and naptha, be and is hereby reenacted as follows: <br /> <br />Within the fire limits of the City of Charlottesville no tank for the <br /> <br />storage of gasoline, benzine, naptha or any other combustible or explosive liquid, hav- <br /> <br />ing a capacity of more than 560 gallons shall be installed for the storage of such <br /> <br />liquid, where such tank is located so that the nearest adjacent property line, other <br /> <br />than the street line, is within 10 feet of the location of the proposed tank, or where <br /> <br />such tank is less than 20 feet from any other tank used for a similar purpose. <br /> <br />In no case shall tanks used for the storage of combustible liquids <br /> <br />as provided herein, be so connected that the liquids may flow or be drawn from one <br /> <br />tank to another and no connection of any nature between tanks will be permitted. <br /> <br />No tank having a capacity of more than 560 gallons shall be <br /> <br />installed, provided however, that nothing contained herein shall be construed as <br /> <br />preventing the use and repair of tanks of more than 560 gallon capacity installed prior <br /> <br />to the passage of this ordinance. <br /> <br />The ordinance shall, upon its passage become a part of the City Build- <br /> <br />ing Code, and the installation, use and maintenance of all tanks installed shall be <br /> <br />subject to all the requirements, restrictions, conditions and penalties as provided <br /> <br />All ordinance or parts or ordiances in conflict herewith are hereby <br /> <br />repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council April 21, 1926. <br />Ayes, Brown and Joachim, Noes None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature. <br />President Signature. <br /> <br />
