<br />animals transported, owned or employed by or in the custody of
<br />such corporation, shall be held to be the act and knowledge of
<br />such corporation. Any one convicted of violating this section
<br />shall be fined not less than $5.00, nor more than $50.00 for each
<br />offense.
<br />Sec. 330. Birds—unlawful to kill.
<br />Any one who shall kill any sparrow, martin, wren, or other
<br />bird, shall be fined $1.00 for each offense. But this section shall
<br />not apply to domestic pigeons when killed by the owner, English
<br />sparrows or starlings.
<br />Sec. 331. Carcasses—to be carried beyond city limits.
<br />The carcasses of all animals which die in the City shall be car-
<br />ried one-half mile beyond the limits of the City or be buried in
<br />some suitable place. Any one violating this section shall be fined
<br />$10.00.
<br />Sec. 332. Carcasses of dead animals and other offensive
<br />things.
<br />If any person shall place, or cause to be placed, in or on any
<br />street, alley, sidewalk, or lot within the City limits the carcass of
<br />any animal, or any other thing or matter offensive to any citizens,
<br />or to the public, or shall suffer any such nuisance to remain on
<br />any such lot owned or held by him, he shall be fined not less than
<br />$5.00 for every twenty-four hours that such nuisance or offen-
<br />sive matter may remain.
<br />Sec. 333. Animals with contagious or infectious dis-
<br />eases.
<br />It shall be unlawful for any person to bring into the City or
<br />drive through the streets of the City, any horse or other animal
<br />suffering from any contagious or infectious disease. Any per-
<br />son violating this section shall be fined not less than $5.00.
<br />Sec. 334. Animals—when dead from infectious diseases,
<br />how disposed of.
<br />When any cow, horse, or other animal shall die of a contp.-
<br />gious or infectious disease, the owner thereof shall forthwith

<br />notify the Chief of Police and he shall at once cause said animal
<br />to be buried in some suitable place at least four feet deep; and
<br />all expense of said burial shall be borne by the owner, and may
<br />be collected of him as fines are collected, should he refuse to pay
<br />the same. Any one violating this section shall be fined $10.00.
<br />Sec. 338. Exhibiting stallion or jack.
<br />If any person shall exhibit any stallion or jack, otherwise than
<br />in harness or under saddle, or have the same serve a mare, with-
<br />in the corporate limits, he shall be fined not less than $5.00 and
<br />not more than $10.00 for each offense.

<br />CHAPTER XXVII.
<br />WATER.
<br />Sec. 336. Water—application for—how made—deposit
<br />—connecting charge—temporary connection.
<br />Whenever any person, owning property along the line of any
<br />water main, shall desire the introduction of water into his pren,
<br />ises, he shall make written application therefor to the City Col-
<br />lector on forms prescribed by him and approved by the City
<br />Manager. Such application shall be accompanied by a payment
<br />equal to the minimum charge for the unexpired period, and a de-
<br />posit of $5.00 (no deposit required where the owner of the prop-
<br />erty to be supplied signs the application agreeing to pay for wa-
<br />ter supplied on account of the application), and shall set forth
<br />the name of the applicant, the location and description of the
<br />property into which the water is to be introduced, and the pur-
<br />pose for which the water is to be used. The City Manager shall
<br />thereupon cause to be constructed, at the expense of the City, a
<br />service pipe leading from the said water main to the curb near-
<br />est said main where tap is to be introduced, and install a water
<br />meter thereon unless the connection has been previously made.
<br />For turning water on again after it has been cut off for non-pay-
<br />ment, there shall be a charge of $1.00 payable in advance. There
<br />shall be a charge of $10.00 payable in advance for all temporary
<br />connections.
<br />Sec. 337. Size of connections.
<br />In tapping the mains for service pipes, no pipe of greater di-
<br />ameter than three -fourth inch, shall be used unless the owner of
<br />the property to be served has agreed in writing to pay the entire
<br />cost of the connection including the meter.
<br />Sec. 338. Wrongful connection—penalty for.
<br />Any person who shall introduce, from the City water works,
<br />water upon any premises except as provided in this chapter shall
<br />be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00.

<br />Sec. 339. Water—fraudulent use—penalty.
<br />Any occupant of premises, upon which water has been intro-
<br />duced, who shall permit water to be used, taken or received by
<br />any person other than the said occupant or members or visitors
<br />of his family, except as provided in this chapter, shall be fined
<br />$5.00 for each offense, and the person so using, carrying or re-
<br />ceiving the water from said premises shall be fined a like sum,
<br />provided that this shall not be construed so as to prevent any
<br />person who has contracted for water on his own premises and
<br />whose fixtures are out of order, from obtaining water from some
<br />other person, with the consent of the person occupying said prem-
<br />ises.
<br />Sec. 340. Water fixtures—right of inspection.
<br />Every person occupying any lot or tenement into which water
<br />is conveyed under this chapter shall permit any authorized agent
<br />of the City, to enter such lot or tenement, at seasonable hours,
<br />to inspect the works therein or to see if the provisions of the
<br />law have been violated. Any person refusing to do so, shall, for
<br />each refusal, pay a fine of $5.00.
<br />Sec. 341. Unauthorized persons turning on and off wa-
<br />ter.
<br />No person, firm or corporation shall turn off or cause_ to be
<br />turned off or on the City water at the curb stop cock box, or me-
<br />ter box; or remove or replace a water meter or to make any con-
<br />nection connecting the City water with the house service after a
<br />meter has been removed; or to make any connection around a
<br />meter or to otherwise disturb, deface, remove, or change any
<br />portion of the City's water system; other than a regular licensed
<br />plumber or his authorized agent acting under authority of the
<br />plumbing code, or one of the City's authorized personnel while
<br />acting in his official capacity.
<br />Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of
<br />this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall
<br />upon conviction, be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than
<br />$100.00.
