AN ORDIANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 344 OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 344 of the <br /> <br />City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 344. Water Rates <br /> <br />Water Rates shall be as follows: <br /> <br />DOMESTIC RATES <br /> <br />Minimum Charge per month or fractional part thereof $1.00 <br /> Per 1,000 cu. ft. <br /> <br />First 1,000 cu. ft $2.62 1/2 <br />Next 1,000 cu ft. to 2,000 cu. ft. 2.25 <br />Next 1,000 cu ft. to 3,000 cu. ft. 1.50 <br />Next 1,000 cu ft. to 4,000 cu. ft. 1.12 1/2 <br />All over 4,000 cu. ft. .90 <br /> <br />Factory Rates <br /> <br />Minimum Charge per month or fractional part thereof $5.00 <br /> Per 1,000 cu. ft. <br />First 10,000 cu. ft $0.97 1/2 <br />Next 20,000 cu ft. to 30,000 cu. ft. 0.82 1/2 <br />Next 10,000 cu ft. to 40,000 cu. ft. 0.75 <br />All over 40,000 cu. ft. 0.60 <br /> <br />The rates for consumers outside of the corporate limits shall be 50 per cent in <br /> <br />addition to the above named rates. <br /> <br />All water accounts shall be due and payable monthly on or before ten days after <br /> <br />the meter has been read. The City Collector shall have the right to disconnect and <br /> <br />to cease furnishing water to any consumer who is delinquent in the payment of his <br /> <br />or her account after the tenth day subsequent to the reading of the meter. <br /> <br />If any water meter shall fail to register the charge shall be the average read - <br /> <br />Ing for the three preceding months. <br /> <br />This section shall not apply to special contracts for the consumption of water which have <br /> <br />been authorized by the Council. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall become effective on and after March 1, 1934. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council, October 16, 1933. <br /> <br />Ayes: Dr. Haden, Messrs. Fife and Jessup. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature <br />President Signature <br /> <br />AN ORDINACE FIXING THE PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO PAY TAXES WHEN DUE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that all City taxes, levies, <br /> <br />and assessments imposed for the year 1933 by an Ordinance of the City, adopted June 27th, 1933, <br /> <br />and spread in Ordinance Book 2, Page 99-100, shall be due and payable on or before the 5th day <br /> <br />of December, 1933, and that the penalties for failure to pay the same shall be as follows <br /> <br />1% Penalty shall be added on December 6th, 1933, <br /> <br />1% Penalty shall be added on January 6th, 1934, <br /> <br />1% Penalty shall be arlded on February 6th, 1934, <br /> <br />1`$ Penalty shall be added on March 6th, 1934, <br /> <br />1% Penalty shall be added on April 6th, 1934, <br /> <br />and thereafter the date and amount of penalty and interest shall be as now provided for by the <br /> <br />laws of the State of Virginia. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council, November 20, 1933. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. Fife, Dr. Haden, Messrs.
