J <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />fl <br />103 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 344 OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 344 of the <br />City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted as follows <br />Sec. 344. Water Rates. <br />Water Rates shall be as follows: <br />DOMESTIC RATES <br />Minimum Charge per month or fractional part thereof <br />First <br />1,000 cu. <br />ft. <br />Nest <br />1,000 cu* <br />ft. <br />to 2,000 cu. ft. <br />Next <br />1,000 cu. <br />ft. <br />to 3,000 cu. ft. <br />Next <br />1,000 cu, <br />ft* <br />to 4,000 cu. ft. <br />All Over 4,000 <br />cu. <br />ft* <br />$1.00. <br />Per 1,000 cu. ft. <br />$2.621 <br />2.25 <br />1.50 <br />1.12,E <br />.90 <br />I/ <br />FACTORY RATES <br />Minimum Charge per month or fractional part thereof <br />First 10,000 cu. ft. <br />Next 200000 cu* ft• to 30,000 cu. ft. <br />Next 10,000 cu. ft. to 40,000 cu. ft. <br />All Over 40,000 cu. ft* <br />$5.00 <br />Per 1,000 cu. ft. <br />.97 <br />.82 <br />.75 <br />.60 <br />The rates for consumers outside of the corporate limits shall be 50 per cent in <br />addition to the above named rates. <br />All water accounts shall be due and payable monthly on or before ten days after <br />the meter has been read• The City Collector shall have the right to disconnect and <br />to cease furnishing water to any consumer who is delinquent in the payment of his <br />or her account after the tenth day subsequent to the reading of the meter. <br />If any water meter shall fail to register the charge shall be the average read - <br />Ing for the three preceding months. <br />This section shall not apply to special contracts for the consumption of water which have <br />been authorized by the Council. <br />This ordinance shall become effective on and after March 1, 1934. <br />(L-a_.jL; - �_ <br />Adopted by the Council, October 16, 1933. <br />Ayes: Dr. Haden, Messrs. Fife and Jessup. <br />res en <br />AN ORIS NANCE FIXING THE PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO PAY TAXES WHEN DUE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that all City taxes, levies, <br />and assessments imposed for the year 1933 by an Ordinance of the City, adopted June 27th, 1933, <br />and spread in Ordinance Book 2, Page 99-100, shall be due and payable on or before the 5th day <br />of December, 1933, and that the penalties for failure to pay the same shall be as follows <br />1% Penalty shall be added on December 6th, 1933, <br />1% Penalty shall be added on January 6th, 1934, <br />1% Penalty shall be arlded on February 6th, 19340 <br />1`$ Penalty shall be added on March 6th, 1934, <br />1% Penalty shall be added on April 6th, 19340 <br />and thereafter the date and amount of penalty and interest shall be as now provided for by the <br />laws of the State of Virginia. <br />Adopted by the Council, November 20, 1933. <br />Ayes: Mr. Fife, Dr. Haden, Messrs.
