1 1 J 1 1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTiTG SECTION 41 OF THE CODE OF 1932 TITLED "OFFICERS - OFFICIAL BONDS" BE IT ORDAINFD by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 41 of the Code of 1932 titled "Officers - Offioial Bonds" be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: The penalties of the official bonds of the following officers shall be, respectively, as herein enumerated, to -exits Mayor. . . . . . .$ 2,000.00 Auditor and Clerk 56000.00 Treasurer25,000.00 Treasurer of Sinking Fund Commission. . . . . . . . . . . . . . 25,000.00 City Manager. . . . . 9 9 . . 9 . . 5,000.00 City Collector. . . . . 10,000.00 Chief of Police. 1,000.00 Meter Readers of Gas and Water. . 1,000.00 Superintendent of Cemeteries. e 1,000.00 Superintendent of Public Yielfare. . . . 26000.00 Sergeant. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.000.00 Constable . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2,000.00 Clerk of Civil and Police Justice Court . . o . 2,000.00 City Electrician. . . . . . . . . . . . 500.00 Every official bond required by the City shall be given in such guaranty oompauy as will be satisfactory to the Finance Committee, and shall be made payable to the City of Charlottes- ville, with condition for the faithful discharge of the duties of the office to which the ,person giving it has been elected or appointed. All official bonds shall be paid for by the City. Any person elected or appointed to any office who shall for ten days after the beginning of the term for which he was elected or appointed, neglect to give such bond and security as may be required of him, shall thereby vacate his office. The Finance Committee shall report tothe Council all official bonds given as required by this section for entry upon its journal and the bonds shall be filed in the office of the clerk of the Corporation Court. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, and all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed* Adopted by the Council September 4, 1934 Ayes: Mr. Fife, Dr. Haden, Mr. Ruff, Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Twyman. Noes: None AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING SECTION 128 OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932 TITLED "HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS AND INSPECTORS - THEIR DUTIES". BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 128 of the City Code of 1932 titled "Heads of Departments and Inspectors - their duties" be emended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: SEC. 128. HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS AND INSPECTORS - THEIR DUTIES. The officials appointed under this chapter, as well as the Superintendent of Public Welfare, shall in addition to the duties fixed'by ordinances and resolutions of the Council, perform such other duties as may be required of them by the City Manager. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, and all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Adopted by the Council September 4, 1934.
