(Mr. Fife absent) <br />Noes: Non • <br />dent <br />AN ORDINANCE AI.WNDING AND REENACTING SECTION 489 (72) A OF THE CITY <br />CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED "PARKING ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 489 (72) A of <br />the City Code of 1932, be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br />SEC. 489 (72) B. Parking on the Streets of the City. <br />All vehicles shall be parked in accordance with signs, signals and other <br />devices for handling traffic, which may be provided by the Mayor and Chief of <br />Police pursuant to Section 489 (69) of this Code, and any amendments thereto. <br />Any person violating any of the provisions of this subsection shall for <br />each offense be liable to a fine of not less than $2.50, nor more than $25.00. <br />This ordinance shall be in force and effect from its passage, and all ordinances, or <br />parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. <br />Clerk ' <br />Adopted by the Council August 5, 1935 <br />Ayes: Mr. Fife, Mr. Huff, Mr. Jessup and <br />Mr. Twyman. (Dr. Haden absent) <br />Noes:: No7e• C <br />n' President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 191 OF THE <br />CITY CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED "HANDBILLS". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section <br />191 of the City Code of 1932, entitled "Handbills", be amended and reenacted so <br />as to read as follows: <br />SEC. 191A. HANDBILLS - DISTRIBUTION. <br />It shall be unlawful to affix any handbill, poster, or advertisement <br />to any billboard, post or other place in the City, except by paste or <br />tacks, so as to hold the same securely and not allow them to become <br />detached or blown about the streets. It shall be unlawful for any <br />person to use the streets of the City of Charlottesville for the purpose <br />of distributing handbills, posters, or other similar written or printed <br />matter, without first obtaining the written permission of the Mayor and <br />Chief of Police.
