AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 494 (15) OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932, ENTITLED "LIMITS OF HEIGHT AND AREA" BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 494 (15) of the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: SEC. 494 (15) A. LIMITS OF HEIGHT AND AREA. (a) Except as specified in subsection 31 of this section, no building hereafter erected within the corporate limits, having walls of hollow terra cotta or concrete blocks, shall exceed three stories, or forty (40) feet in height. (b) The floor area between fire walls of non-fireproof buildings shall not exceed the following: When fronting on one street, 7500 square feet; when fronting on two streets, 10,000 square feet; and when fronting on three streets, 12,000 square feet. These area limits may be increased under the following conditions as indicated: For buildings of only one story in height, 33 1/3%. For non-fireproof buildings, fully equipped with approved automatic sprinklers, 66 2/3%. For fireproof buildings, not exceeding 125 feet in height, 50%. For fireproof buildings not exceeding 125 feet in height fully equipped with approved automatic sprinklers, 100%. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith are hereby repealed. President AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF 1932 BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO, DESIGNATED AS SECTION 351 (1) ENTITLED "GAS RATES - OPTIONAL" BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the City Code of 1932 be amended by adding a new section designated as Section 351 (1) and the same is hereby enacted to read as follows: SEC. 351 (1) GAS RATES (OPTIONAL) The following optional gas rates are hereby established: (a) Any customer using gas for automatic water heating and for either refrigeration or cooking: 1st 400 cu. ft. or less per mo. $1.00 Next 2600 cu. ft. 1.35 per M cu. ft. Over 3000 cu. ft. 1.00 per M cu. ft. (b) Any customer using gas for cooking, automatic hot water heating and refrigeration: 1st 500 cu. ft. or less per mo. $1.00 Next 2000 cu. ft. 1.35 per M. cu. ft. All over 2,500 cu. ft. .90 per M. cu. ft. (c) Any customer having only a gas refrigerator: 1st 1000 cu. ft. or less per mo. $1.10 All over 1,000 cu. ft. 1.00 per M. cu. ft. (d) In addition to the rate established in (c) above the following rates are available to any domestic customer having connected and in regular use a gas refrigerator for which gas is billed separately, to be based upon and fixed solely by the gross interior size of the refrigerator as defined below and said billing to be made as a separate charge for gas refrigeration purposes only.
