1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />Cl <br />1 <br />%_'I5 <br />The classification of the above sizes will be made according to which- <br />ever of the above gross interior size division said gas refrigerator is <br />nearest to, such size determination being based solely upon computation <br />from the Manufacturer's official inner linear measurements of said gas <br />refrigerator. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, <br />and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith are hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council March 15, 1937 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, 1r. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Twyman. <br />Noes: None. <br />Clerk President <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 352 OF THE CITY <br />CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED 'DEPOSIT BY GAS CONSUMERS -WHEN GAS BILLS <br />ARE PAYABLE -SERVICE CHARGE FOR GAS CONNECTION. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 352 of <br />the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted as follows: <br />SEC. 352 A. DEPOSIT BY GAS CONSUMERS-ti-11HEN GAS BILLS ARE PAYABLE -SERVICE <br />CHARGE FOR GAS CONNECTI31i. <br />(a) DEPOSIT: Any person, firm or corporation which shall hereafter <br />begin the use of City gas, shall before connection is made and meter placed <br />ma'�e a deposit according to the following schedule: <br />A consumer operating a hotel, restaurant, eating house, hot dog <br />stand or similar business, catering to transients, $25.00; a consumer operat- <br />ing a boarding house accomodating more than ten boarders, $10.00, all other <br />consumers, $5.00. <br />The deposit, or any part thereof, may at the option of the City, <br />be applied on any obligation the consumer may owe the City in connection with <br />City gas. Until the account of such consumer with the City shall be closed <br />out, said deposit shall be kept unimpaired by the consumer and when the account <br />is closed out, the balance, if any, shall be returned to the consumer or his <br />personal representative, or assigns. <br />(b) WHEN GAS IS CUT OFF: The gas furnished to any consumer shall be <br />cut off whenever any charge therefor remains unpaid beyond the last day allowed <br />for payment and when any consumer shall fail, after ten days' notice, to mal.ce <br />good any impairment of the deposit hereinbefore provided for. <br />(c) CONNECTING CHARGE: For turning gas on again after it has been cut <br />off for non-payment, there shall be a charge of $1.00 payable in advance. <br />(d) GAS BILLS PAYABLE: All gas bills for the preceding month are due <br />and payable on or before the tenth day after a statement is rendered, and where <br />such bills are not paid before the said tenth day the service shall be discontinued. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, <br />and all ordinance and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith are hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council March 15, 1937. <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Twyman. <br />Noes: None. <br />President <br />AN ORDINANCE A111EPIDING AND RENEACTING SECTION 358 OF THE CITY CODE <br />OF 1932 ENTITLED 'GAS CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE BY CITY'. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 358 <br />of the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended and reenacted so as to <br />read as follows: <br />SEC. 358 A. GAS CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE BY CITY. <br />All gas connections from gas mains to the building, including the setting <br />of all meters and repairs in the street, shall be done by the City at the expense <br />of the same, except as hereinafter mentioned. The property owner shall pay <br />the actual costs of the pipe and its installation over and above 100 lineal feet <br />from the property line for any one consumer, and for each additional consumer a <br />further distance of 100 feet may be allowed. <br />
