completed, Southern Railway Company shall take out the present track leading <br /> <br />to the present freight house from a connection near the passenger depot, and <br /> <br />after the removal of such track no other track shall be constructed by said <br /> <br />Southern Railway Company upon the plat of land bounded on the north by Main <br /> <br />Street, on the east by 7th Street, on the south by the Chesapeake and Ohio <br /> <br />Right of Way and on the west by the right of way of said Southern Railway." <br /> <br />be and the same is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the delivery and recordation <br /> <br />of a deed from the Georgia Industrial Realty Corporation to the City of Charlottesville <br /> <br />conveying certain property in the City of Charlottesville on which said freight station <br /> <br />was to have been originally constructed. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council November 7, 1938 <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br /> <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature <br />President Signature <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 489 (30) OF THE CITY <br /> <br />CODE OF 1932, ENTITLED "DUTY TO STOP IN EVENT OF ACCIDENT". <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 489(30) <br /> <br />of the City Code of 1932, entitled "Duty to Stop in event of Accidents", be and the <br /> <br />same hereby is amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />SEC. 489 (30) DUTY TO STOP IN EVENT OF ACCIDENT. <br /> <br />(a) The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in <br /> <br />injuries or death to any person or damage to property shall immediately <br /> <br />stop such vehicle at the scene of such accident and any person violating <br /> <br />this provision shall upon conviction be punished as provided in subsection <br /> <br />sixty-four of this section. <br /> <br />(b) The driver of any vehicle involved in any such accident shall <br /> <br />also give his name, address, chauffeur's license number and the registration <br /> <br />number of his vehicle to the person struck or the driver or occupants of any <br /> <br />vehicle collided with and shall render to any person injured in such accident <br /> <br />reasonable assistance, including the carrying of such person to a physician, <br /> <br />surgeon or hospital for medical or surgical treatment if it is apparent that <br /> <br />such treatment is necessary or is requested by the injured person and it <br /> <br />shall be unlawful for any person to violate this provision. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, <br /> <br />and all ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council January 3, 1939. <br /> <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br /> <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />Clerk Signature <br />President Signature <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 286 OF <br /> <br />THE CITY CODE OF 1932, ENTITLED "DANCE HALLS - REGUL- <br /> <br />ATION OF." <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section <br /> <br />286 of the City Code of 1932, entitled "Dance Halls - Regulation Of", be and <br /> <br />the same hereby is amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />SEC. 286 (A). DANCE HALLS - REGULATION OF. <br /> <br />Any person desiring to conduct a dance hall in which public <br /> <br />dancing is to be allowed, where an admission fee is charged or a <br /> <br />charge is made for participating in such dancing, shall first obtain <br /> <br />the consent of the Mayor, who shall satisfy himself that the person <br /> <br />applying is a proper person to conduct such hall and the location <br /> <br />is suitable for such purpose, and in addition, the person so applying <br /> <br />shall procure the license required for dance halls.
