223 <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING A NEW SECTION TO THE CITY CODE OF <br />1932, DESIGNATED AND ENTITLED SECTION 489 (70), PARKING OF BUSSES, <br />TRUCKS, TRAILERS, ETC. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a new section <br />be added to the City Code of 1932, which is hereby enacted to read as follows: <br />SEC. 489 (70) PARKING OF BUSSES, TRUCKS, TRAILERS, ETC. <br />No bus, truck, trailer, or semi -trailer shall be parked on any of the <br />streets of the City between the hours of twelve o'clock midnight and six A. M. <br />following of any day. <br />The owner, operator or driver of any motor vehicle which is parked in <br />violation of this subsection shall for each offense be fined not less than <br />N-50 nor more than 550.00. <br />All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed <br />and this ordinance shall take effect from the date of its passage. <br />Adopted by the Council April 3, 1939. <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />esiden <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ANNUAL 1939 LICENSE <br />TAX ORDINANCE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO NUMBERED <br />AND ENTITLED "104 (a) PUBLIC PARKS AND SWIMMING POOLS". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the Annual <br />1939 License Tax Ordinance be amended by addin6 a new section thereto, which shall <br />read as follows: <br />104 (a). PUBLIC PARK AND SWIMMING POOLS. <br />On every person, firm or corporation owning, operating and conducting <br />a public park and swimming pool, there shall be an annual license tax of <br />$100.00 which shall be in lieu of all other City licenses. <br />All ordinancesor parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, <br />and.this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage. <br />Clerk <br />Adopted by the Council May 1, 1939 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />Presid6rft <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($l50,000.00) OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />TO BE KNOWN AS "GENERAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIFS OF 193911. <br />WHEREAS, the issuance of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) <br />of serial bonds of the City of Charlottesville, to be known as "General Improvement Bonds, <br />Series of 193911 has been approved by an ordinance adopted by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, on March 20th, 1939, and spread in Ordinance Book 2 p. 219-221, <br />and approved by the voters of the City at a special election held for that purpose on <br />April 25th2 19392 in accordance with the Charter of the City of Charlottesville and the <br />laws of the State of Virginia. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE: <br />1. That there shall be issued One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) <br />of serial bonds of the City of Charlottesville, to be known as "General Improvement Bonds, <br />Series of 1939"; that said bonds be dated the first day of July, 1939, and numbered from <br />
