1 <br />1 <br />2,57 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 74 OF THE CITY <br />CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED "AUDITOR - QUARTERLY REPORTS". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ch<<rlottesville that Section 74 <br />of the City Code of 1932, entitled "Auditor- 1%uarterly Reports", be amended and re- <br />enacted so as to read as follows: <br />SEC. 74 AUDITOR - eUARTERLY REPORTS. <br />The Auditor shall on or before the 25th day of December, March, June <br />and September in each year prepare and publish in a newspaper published in <br />the City of Charlottesville a condensed statement of the condition of the <br />City's finances as of the end of the previous quarter, consisting of a state- <br />ment of the receipts and disbursements for so much of tree fiscal year as may <br />then have expired, and a balance sheet. <br />All ordinances or parts of or.ainances in conflict herevrith are hereby repealed. <br />Adopted by the Council September 3, 1940 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />11r. Nash and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />Clerk Presiden <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SUBSECTION (c) OF SECTION 489 (74) <br />OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED 11110TOR VEHICLES OPERATED OR USED FOR <br />TRANSPORTATION OF PASSENGERS FOR HIRE - REGISTRATION OF SUCH VEHICLES - <br />.REGISTRATION OF DRIVERS FOR SUCH VEHICLES - BOND REQUIRED - SCHEDULE OF <br />CHARGES". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that subection (c) <br />of Section 489 (74) of the Code of the City of Charlottesville of 1932 as heretofore <br />amended, relating to registration of drivers of vehicles operated for hire, be and <br />the same is hereby amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br />489 (74) (c) No person shall urive a motor vehicles for hire in the City <br />of Charlottesville until lie has been registered by the Chief of Police. No <br />person under the age of sixteen years shall be registered. No such registration <br />shall be granted until the applicant has shown to the satisfaction of the Chief <br />of Police his good moral character, his ability to operate such vehicles and <br />knowledge of traffic ordinances and regulations of the City. Any registration <br />heretofore or hereafter granted may be revoked for any cause which would have <br />been grounds for refusal of such registration whether such cause arose before <br />or after the granting of such registration. Registration fee of $)3.00 shall <br />be required and such fees, together with two photographs, post -card size, of <br />such applicant shall accompany each application. Annual registration on or <br />before I%lay 1st is required but where a driver registeres each successive year <br />the fee of $3.00 shall be charged only for the original registration. The <br />registration card with a photograph attached shall be conspicuously- posted in <br />the vehicle operated by such driver. <br />No person shall permit any motor vehicle owned or controlled by him to <br />be operated for hire in the City of Ch:.,riottesville by any person who has not <br />been registered by the Chief of Police as hereinabove provided. <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage, <br />and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict are hereby repeE..led. <br />Clerk <br />Adopted by the Council September 3, 1940. <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />11r. Nash and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />President <br />AN ORDINANCE REENACTING SECTION 320 OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932 <br />AND AMENDMENTS THERETO DEFINING AND PROHIBITING THE BULK STORAGE OF <br />GASOLINE AND OTHER FLAILIABLE LIQUIDS WITHIN THE FIRE LIMITS - <br />PROVIDING FOR THE HANDLING OF SAME. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 320 <br />of the City Code of 1932, and amendments thereto, be end the same is hereby amended <br />and reenacted to read as follows: <br />SEC. 320 (1) GASOLINE, BENZINE, NAPTHA AND OTHER FLAMMABLE LIgUIDS. <br />BULK STORAGE, HANDLING, UNLOADING. <br />The storage, keeping of gasoline or any other highly explosive liquids in <br />quantities of more than 2,000 gallons in any one container is hereby defined to <br />
