263 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION.325 OF THE <br />CODE OF 1932 WITH RESPECT TO LIMITS WITHIN WHICH NO HOGS <br />MAY BE KEPT - PERT1ITS TO KEEP HOGS OUTSIDE OF LIMITS - <br />AND REVOCATION OF PERMITS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 325 of <br />the City Code of 1932 be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br />1 <br />Adopted by the Council January 6, 1941 <br />Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, <br />Mr. Nash, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. <br />resiaent <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 492 (2) OF <br />THE CITY CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED "S'EVIER CONNECTION - <br />APPLICATION FOR - COST, ETC". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that Section 492(2) <br />of the City Code of 1932 be amended and reenacted so as to read as follows: <br />SEC. 492 (2) SEIVER CONNECTION - APPLICATION FOR - COST, ETC". <br />The work of running connecting lines from the City sewer to the property <br />line of the owner shall be done by the City, but the owner shall pay to the City <br />therefor $15.00 for each.connection. Such connection shall be made only upon <br />application in writing on a form provided by the City Manager, to whom application <br />shall be made, and the payment above mentioned shall be made at the time of application. <br />Adopted by the Council, March 3, 1941 <br />Ayes: Idr. Huff, <br />Mr. Nash and Mr. Peyton. <br />Noes: None. t / <br />esiaen <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to keep any live hogs, except for <br />immediate shipment or slaughter within the following boundaries: <br />Beginning at the point where the City Limits prior to the annexation of 1939 <br />cross the Free Bridge Road, thence with said City limits in a southerly direction <br />to Monticello Road, thence in a westerly direction to Monticello Avenue, thence <br />with Monticello Avenue to the intersection of Monticello Avenue and I,Ieridian Street, <br />thence along Meridian Street in a southerly direction Alta Vista Avenue, thence <br />along Alta Vista Avenue in a westerly direction to Scottsville Road, thence in a <br />straight line in a westerly direction to the intersection of First Street and <br />Lankford Avenue, thence with Lankford Avenue in a westerly direction to the entrance <br />to the greenhouses formerly Lankford, now Valley View, thence due southwest to <br />Hartman's Mill Road, thence along Hartman Mill Road, in a westerly direction to <br />Ridge Street, thence crossing Ridge Street in a westerly direction along an alley <br />nearly opposite the Hartman Mill Road to Fifth Street, thence along Fifth Street <br />in a northerly direction to a point where Elm Street, if extended, would cross <br />Fifth Street, thence along said extension of Elm Street in a westerly direction to <br />Ninth Street, thence along Ninth Street to Cherry Street in a westerly direction <br />to Jones Street, thence along Jones Street in a northerly direction to the Southern <br />Railroad, thence along the Southern Railroad in a westerly direction to the City <br />line prior to the 1939 annexation, thence along the said City line in a northerly <br />direction to the Old Barracks Road, thence along the Old Barracks Road in a southerly <br />direction to the southeast corner of Washington Park, thence in a northerly direction <br />to'Concord Avenue, thence along Concord Avenue to Rose Hill Street, thence southerly <br />along Rose hill Street to Charlton Avenue, thence easterly along Charlton Avenue to <br />the old line of the Southern Railroad, thence northerly along the old line of the <br />Southern Railroad to the City limits prior to the 1939 annexation, thence with the <br />said City limits in an easterly direction to St. Clair Avenue, thence along St. <br />Clair Avenue in a southeasterly direction to Hazei Street, thence along Hazel <br />Street to the point of beginning. <br />Hogs may be kept within the City Limits outsiae of said boundaries only after <br />permit has been granted by the Chief of Police after approval of the City health <br />officers. Such permit shall be granted only upon application signed by all owners <br />' <br />of property within two hundred and fifty feet of nearest resident of the place where <br />such hogs are to be kept.
