<br />assessed value thereof to pay the general operating expenses of the City govern-
<br />ment and to pay the interest and sinking fund on the City debt other than schools,
<br />and there shall be levied an additional tax on every $100.00 assessed value thereof
<br />of $0.25 (twenty-five cents) to pay the interest and sinking fund on the school
<br />bonds and $0.80 (eighty cents) for the maintenance and operating of the City schools.
<br />3. Other Property.
<br />Upon any tangible personal property not included in the foregoing, which is not
<br />exempt from local taxation, the tax shall be 00.95 (ninety-five cents) on every
<br />$100.00 assessed value thereof to pay the general operating expenses of the City
<br />government and to pay the interest and sinking fund on the City debt other than schools,
<br />and there shall be levied an additional tax on every $100.00 assessed value thereof
<br />of $0.25 (twenty-five cents) to pay the interest and sinking fund on the school bonds
<br />and $0.80 (eighty cents) for the maintenance and operating of the City schools.
<br />The foregoing levy shall be applicable to all of the property within the City
<br />of Charlottesville of the classes above described including property in the territory
<br />annexed to the said City as of January 1, 1939, it being determined bT the Council
<br />that 12% of the assessed value of the lands annexed as aforesaid has already been
<br />expended in and for the benefit of said annexed territory for public improvements
<br />pursuant to Ordinance adopted November 20, 1939.
<br />All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

<br />ordinance entitled TIAN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING THE USE OF CITY WATERtt, adopted
<br />by the Council on May 4, 1942, be and the same is hereby repealed.

<br />CITY CODE OF 1932 RELATING TO KEEPING ANIMALS IN THE CITY.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ch,-•:rlottesville that Section 326
<br />of the City Code of 1932 be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
<br />This ordinance shall be in force from its passage.

<br />Section 326. Animals - Keeping in City.
<br />No sheep shall be kept in the City limits except for immediate
<br />shipment or slaughter and it shall be unlawful to keep within the City
<br />limits between the hours of 10:30 o block P. M. and 5:00 o1clock A. M. any
<br />'
<br />herd, flock: or group of cattle, calves, sheep or swine intended for shipment,
<br />or sale, , but this ordinance s'tiall not apply to animals which may
<br />have been delivered to any railway company for shipment while in the custody
<br />of such railway company. Three or more animals shall be considered a herd,
<br />flock or group within the terms of this ordinance. Any person, firm or
<br />corporation violating the provisions of this section shall be fined not less
<br />than $10.00 and not more than $25.00 for each day such violation continues;
<br />provided, how6vefl, that for the period from the adoption of this amended
<br />ordinance, that is, from October 1, 1942, to and including October 16, 19,42,
<br />the hours between which it shall be unlawful to keep within the city limits
<br />any herd, flock or group of cattle, calves, sheep or swine for shipment,
<br />slaughter or sale as hereinabove provided, shall be the hours from 2:30
<br />o'clock A. M. to 5 otclock A. 11.
<br />This ordinance shall be in force from its passage.
