No. <br />$1,000.00 <br />283 <br />ATTEST: <br />Clerk of the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville. <br />Mayor of the City of Charlottesville. <br />Treasurer of the City of Charlottesville. <br />(FORM OF COUPON) <br />No. <br />The City of Charlottesville, Virginia, will pay on the day of <br />19 , to the bearer hereof, at the office of the City Treasurer, <br />Dollars ($ ), being interest then due on its Refunding Bond, Series <br />of 1942, dated February 12 1942, and numbered . This coupon is receivable at <br />and after maturity in payment of all taxes, debts or demands due the City of Charlottesville. <br />Mayor <br />Treasurer <br />Clerk of the Council <br />The City of Charlottesville promises to pay to bearer One Thousand Dollars ($1,000), <br />in lawful money of the United States, on the first aay of August 19 , on surrender of this <br />bond, with interest at the rate of per centum per annum, payable on the first day <br />of August 1942 and semi-annually thereafter on the first days of February and August in <br />each year, on presentation of the coupons hereto attached, both principal and interest <br />being payable at the office of the Treasurer of the City of Charlottesville, in Charlottesville, <br />Virginia. <br />This bond is one of an issue of Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000.00)2 <br />issued by the City of Charlottesville for the purpose of refunding a like amount of valid <br />outstanding bonds of said City, under the authority of and in full compliance with the <br />Charter of the City of Charlottesville and the laws of the State of Virginia, and pursuant <br />to an ordinance of the City of Charlottesville adopted January 16th, 1942 and spread in <br />Ordinance Book No. 2,p,282-285:and the full faith and credit of the City are pledged for <br />the payment of the principal and interest hereof. <br />IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that all requirements of law have been fully complied with <br />by the proper officers in issuing this bond, and the total amount of this bond and of the <br />issue of which it forms a part does not exceed any debt limit prescribed by the Constitution <br />or statues of the State of Virginia. <br />This bond is exempt from taxation by the City, and the coupons hereto attached are <br />receivable at and after maturity in payment of all taxes, debts or demands due the City. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF the City of Charlottesville has caused this bond to be signed by <br />its Mayor and Treasurer, and attested by the Clerk of the Council under the seal of said <br />City, and the interest coupons hereto annexed to be executed by the facsimile signatures <br />of said officials, this first day of February, 1942. <br />ATTEST: <br />Clerk of the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville. <br />Mayor of the City of Charlottesville. <br />Treasurer of the City of Charlottesville. <br />(FORM OF COUPON) <br />No. <br />The City of Charlottesville, Virginia, will pay on the day of <br />19 , to the bearer hereof, at the office of the City Treasurer, <br />Dollars ($ ), being interest then due on its Refunding Bond, Series <br />of 1942, dated February 12 1942, and numbered .
