1 <br />315 <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING A NEW SECTION TO THE CITY CODE OF 1932 <br />DESIGNATED "SECTION 490(a) PROHIBITING THE SALE OF WINE IN <br />THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE ON SUNDAY". <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a neva section <br />be added to the City Code of 1932, which shall be numbered and entitled and which shall <br />read as follows: <br />SECTION 490(a) PROHIBTTING THE SALE OF WINE IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE <br />ON SUNDAY. <br />It shall be unlawful to sell within the limits of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville any wine between the hours of twelve o'clock post meridian of each <br />Saturday and six o'clock ante meridian of each Monday, and it shall be unlawful <br />for any person holding a license to sell wine in the City, to permit the <br />consumption of wine upon the premises mentioned in said license btween said hours. <br />Any violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine of <br />not less than $50.00 and not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City <br />Jail for not less than 30 days and not more than six months, or by both such <br />fine and imprisonment. <br />This ordinance shall be in force from its passage. <br />Clerk <br />Adopted by the Council June 21, 1943 <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, fir. Huff and <br />Mr. Morris. <br />Noes: None. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 494(6)(h) OF <br />THE CITY CODE OF 1932 RELATING TO PERMITS - 10=11 REQUIRED - <br />FEES. <br />BE IT ORDAII4ED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that sub -section <br />(h) of Section 494(6) of the Code of 1932, be and the same is hereby amended so as to <br />read as follows: <br />o s: <br />SECTION 494 (6) (h) PERMITS - 1`vr iEN REQUIRED - FEES. <br />No permit required hereunder for erection, construction or alteration <br />of a building or structure shall be issued unless the proper fee accompanies <br />the application; the fees for permits issued hereunder shall be as follows: <br />Whore the total cost does not exceed $1,000.00............01.00 <br />For each additional :;;1,000.00 or fraction ................. 1.00 <br />Maximum fee required....................................$150.00 <br />Such permit shall be issued upon ,-)ayment of a fee based upon the estimated <br />cost and upon completion of the work for 1Thich -permit is issued an accurate <br />statement of the cost thereof, shall be furnished by the party to whom the <br />permit was issued to the Building Inspector and thereupon adjustment of the difference <br />between the fee properly chargeable based on actual cost, and the fee paid based <br />on estimated cost shall be made. If the actual cost exceeds the estimated cost <br />the party to whom the permit is issued shall pay the difference due by him and <br />if the actual cost be less than the estimated cost the City Auditor is hereby <br />authorized to refund to the person by whom the estimated fee was paid such <br />portion thereof as constitutes an overpayment. <br />This ordinance shall be in force from the date of its passage. <br />Adopted by the Council July 132 1943 <br />Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, i:Ir. Huff, <br />and Mr. Morris. <br />Noes: Hone. <br />er <br />esiaen <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 489(.72) OF THE <br />CITY CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED "PARKING ON THE STREETS OF Ti1E <br />CITYlt. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Section 489 (72) <br />of the Cit,; Code of 1932 as heretofore amended, be amended and reenacted as follows: <br />SEC. 489 (72) Parking on the Streets of the City. <br />All vehicles shall be parked in accordance with signs, signals, and <br />other devices for handling traff ic,which may be provided by the Mayor and <br />Chief of Police pursuant to Section 489 (69) of this Code, and any amendments <br />thereto, provided however that between the hours 1:00 otclock A. ill. and 5:00 <br />A. L?. no vehicle shall be parked on the following streets within the City: <br />
