October 2, 1963, a copy of which order is hereto attached and posted herewith as a part of this notice. <br /> <br /> Given under my hand this 24th day of October, 1963. B. J. Haggerty, signed, Mayor of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia. <br /> <br />An ordinance amending and reenacting the District Map incorporated in Section 4 of Article III of Appendix II <br /> <br /> of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1959, by the rezoning of a parcel of land fronting 275 feet on the <br /> <br />western side of Preston Avenue. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the District <br /> <br /> Map incorporated in Section 4 of Article III of Appendix II of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1959, be <br /> <br /> amended by the rezoning of a parcel of land fronting 275 feet on the western side of Preston Avenue and <br /> <br />reenacted as follows: Section 4, District Map, changing from R-2 Residential District to R-3 Multiple-Dwelling <br /> <br /> District all of that parcel of land fronting 275 feet on the western side of Preston Avenue near Rosser Avenue <br /> <br /> designated as Parcel #118 on City Tax Map #3. Adopted by the Council October 21, 1963. Ayes: Mr. Lee, <br /> <br /> Mr. Mount, Mr. Ponton and Mr. Scribner. Noes: none. Mr. Haggerty absent. <br /> <br />An ordinance amending and reenacting Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1959, by the <br /> <br /> addition thereto of a new section numbered 27 entitled “Fluoridation of City Water.” Be it ordained by the <br /> <br />Council of the City of Charlottesville that Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1959, is hereby <br /> <br /> amended and reenacted by the addition thereto of a new section numbered Section 27 to read as follows: Section 27, <br /> <br />Fluoridation of City Water. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to provide the means and to proceed with <br /> <br /> the introduction of fluorine, sodium fluoride or a compound thereof to the City’s public water supply in such quantities as <br /> <br /> are required to maintain throughout the City’s water distribution system a fluoride ion concentration of approximately one part per million. <br /> <br />The Water Department shall keep an accurate daily record showing the number of gallons treated and the fluoride <br /> <br /> ion concentration of the water after treatment. Such department shall also determine and record the fluoride ion concentration <br /> <br /> in the distribution system at such points and at such intervals as may be directed by the Director of Albemarle-Charlottesville <br /> <br /> Health Department. <br /> <br />The Director shall have general supervision over treatment of the public water supply with fluoride and the Water <br /> <br /> Department is directed to furnish to the said Health Department copies of records specified herein, at daily, weekly, <br /> <br />or monthly intervals as may be required by the Director. The Water Department is further directed to furnish copies of <br /> <br /> these records to the State Department of Health at monthly intervals. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council December 2, 1963. <br />Ayes: Mr. Haggerty, Mr. Lee, Mr. Mount, Mr. Ponton and Mr. Scribner. <br />Noes: none. <br /> <br />CLERK <br />PRESIDNET
