Combination Waste and Vent System. <br />(a) Where Permitted. <br />required tests have been made and the system found free <br />from leaks; also whether the owner or his authorized agent <br />was present when such inspection or test was made, or was <br />duly notified. <br />(e) Plumbers' Responsibility. <br />It shall be the duty of the holder of a permit to make sure <br />that the work will stand the test prescribed before giving the <br />notification. <br />(d) Testing. ; <br />If the Plumbing Inspector finds that the work will not pass <br />the test, the holder of a permit shall be required to make <br />necessary corrections and the work shall then be resubmitted <br />for test or inspection.tn 4,1,; <br />(e) Tests. t5:,ust n9nw19d r, i� r 3:.- <br />Tests shall be conducted in the presence of the Plumbing <br />Inspector or his duly appointed representative, except as pro- <br />vided in Advance Notice. <br />(f) Notice of Violation. <br />1300 <br />1200 Notices of approvals and violations of jobs requiring per - <br />1100 mits shall be written and mailed or delivered by the Plumbing <br />800 Inspector to the person responsible at the time of completion <br />10,010 of job. <br />5010 <br />350 (g) Reinspection. <br />250 plumbing Reins ections of l <br />p p g installations or any part thereof <br />shall be made when deemed necessary by the Plumbing In- <br />spector. <br />A combination waste and vent system shall be permitted <br />only where structural conditions preclude the installation of <br />conventional system as otherwise provided in this Code. Plans <br />th must be submitted to Plumbing Board and approval given <br />prior to installation of a combination waste and vent system. <br />(b) Limits. <br />A combination waste and vent system is limited to floor <br />drains and sinks. It consists of an installation of waste pip- <br />ing in which the trap of the fixture is not individually vented. <br />Every waste pipe in the system shall be at least two pipe sizes <br />larger than the size required in Table 1. <br />ARTICLE XIV—STORM AND SURFACE WATER. <br />22.1-122. Areaways and Footing Drains. <br />(a) Areaways. <br />Areaways used as entrance and exit from buildings, may <br />connect to sanitary sewer through floor drains provided: <br />(1) Not more than 40 sq. ft. of area be drained into sewer <br />from each areaway. <br />�e <br />•�v <br />(2) Drainage from areaways to be! --.from direct rainfall only. <br />(b) Footing Drains. <br />No footing drains shall connect to sanitary sewer directly or <br />indirectly. <br />(c) Storm Water. <br />No storm water shall be drained into sanitary sewer. <br />ARTICLE XV—INSPECTION. <br />22.1-123. Inspections in General. <br />(a) When Required. <br />All new plumbing work, and such portions of existing sys- <br />tems as may be affected by new work or any changes of exist- <br />ing systems shall be inspected to insure compliance with all <br />the requirements of this Code. <br />(b) Advance Notice. <br />It shall be the duty of the holder of a permit to give notice <br />to the Plumbing Inspector when plumbing work is ready for <br />test or inspection. Such notification shall be given eight hours <br />before the work is ready for inspection. If the Plumbing In- <br />spector fails to appear within twenty-four hours of the time <br />set for each inspection or test, excepting Saturdays, Sundays, <br />or Holidays, the inspection or test shall be deemed to have been <br />made, and the plumber required to file an affidavit with the <br />Plumbing Inspector that the work was installed in accordance <br />with the Code, and that it was free from defects and that the <br />(h) Uncovering. <br />If any building drainage or plumbing system or part thereof, <br />is covered before being inspected or tested, it shall be un- <br />covered for inspection after notice to do so by the Plumbing <br />Inspector. <br />(i) Methods of Testing Drainage and Vent System. <br />(1) Water Test. <br />The Plumbing system, including drain and vents, <br />shall be filled with water and tested to the highest <br />point. If system is tested in sections, each section shall <br />be filled with water and pressure applied to a gauge <br />reading of 5 lbs. per square inch. <br />(2) Air -Test. <br />The system tested shall hold 5 lbs. per square inch <br />gauge pressure fifteen (15) minutes without pressure <br />drop. <br />ARTICLE XVI—WATER SUPPLY. <br />22.1-124. Cross Connections—Material, Size. <br />(a) Cross Connection. <br />Plumbing systems shall be installed so there is no cross <br />connection between waste water and the potable water supply; <br />all fixtures shall have air space between faucet and flood level <br />of receptacle; and all flush -o -meter valves shall have approved <br />vacuum brakers. <br />(b) Materials. <br />Water pipe shall be L or K type copper, galvanized wrought <br />iron, or galvanized mild steel with appropriate fittings. Under- <br />ground copper pipe shall be type K. <br />(e) Depth and Relation to Seiner Service. <br />All water service lines, from the City meter or main to <br />buildings, shall be installed in the ground with a minimum of <br />eighteen inches of earth covering and shall in no case be <br />installed in the same trench or nearer than five feet at any <br />point to a sewer service line. <br />(d) Minimum Size. <br />Water services from meter to the inside wall of building <br />shall be not less than one inch pipe size, or any pipe size <br />larger than meter. Water lines inside of building shall be <br />not less than three-quarter inch pipe size to last fixture branch - <br />22.1 -125.
