13 <br />New Armory be made immediately and that the aforementioned committee be appointed, <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />• Mr. L. H. Peterson, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, addressed the Council <br />in regard to the erection of street signs. The City Manager advised that we needed <br />Street approximately 1900 signs and that the cost would be about $7500.00. A motion by <br />Signs <br />Mr. Tebell, seconded by Mr. Gleason, that the matter of installing street signs <br />be done just as soon as practicable and that houses in Charlottesville be properly <br />numbered at the same time, was unaniously adopted. <br />Soft Drinks- A communication from Leroy Snow in regard to selling soft drinks in the City <br />City Parks <br />Parks during the showing of movies was referred to Mr. Tebell for investigation <br />and report. <br />The City Manager recommended that a county water connection be granted to <br />County Water the Albemarle Livestock Market, Inc., near Moores Creek. On motion by Mr. Gleason, <br />Connection <br />seconded by Mr. Tebell, this connection was granted by the following recorded vote: <br />• Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, and Mr. Tebell. Noes: Mr. Adams. <br />The City manager recommended that three applications for county water connec- <br />County Fater <br />Connections tions be granted to Haynes L. Settle in Maury Hills. On motion by Cdr. Gleason, <br />seconded by Mr. Tebell, the foregoing connections were unanimously granted. <br />p County Sewer On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Nash, a county sewer connection <br />tn Connection <br />was granted to the Albemarle Livestock Market, Inc., near Moores Creek. <br />M <br />County Gas On motion by Mr. Nash, seconded by idr. Gleason, a county gas connection was <br />Connection <br />granted to Mrs. E. George Spies on Rugby Road. <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Tebell, the following resolution <br />was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Bank Stock Tax $419.40 be and the same is hereby appropriated to the Town of Scottsville <br />Refunded to <br />Scottsville for Bank Stock Tax. <br />and Louisa <br />On motion by Mr. Tebell, seconded by -Mr. Gleason, the following resolution <br />was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$692.22 be and the same is hereby appropriated to the Town of Louisa for <br />Bank Stock Tax. <br />S An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINAiJCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 24 OF <br />Ordinance - CHAPTER 7 OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1945 ENTITLED tWALLSt", was offered <br />"Walls" <br />by Mr. Tebell, seconded by Mr. Gleason, and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Nash, the Welfare Budget for the <br />Welfare fisc -al year commencing July 1, 1947 in amount of $100,960.00 was unanimously <br />Budget <br />approved. <br />On motion by Mr. Nash, seconded by Mr. Tebell, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />WHEREAS there has been a change in the zoning ordinance changing lots <br />Zoning one (1) to thirty-three (33) inclusive, as designated on the plat of <br />University Circle Subdivision from A-1 Residence to A Residence District, and <br />WHEREAS the Council considers it advisable that lots thirty-four 04) <br />thirty-five (35) and thirty-five (a) (35a) be inclusided in said change, <br />
