Mayor and Chief of Police for disposition, <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded <br />by TvIr. Watson, the following resolution <br />was unanimously adopted: <br />WHEREAS an acute housing shortage <br />has existed and continues to exist <br />in the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, and vicinity, and <br />Resolution WHEREAS a large number of <br />those citizens of the City of Ch;-,rlottesville <br />re: Housing <br />without adequate housing facilities <br />are veterans of World War II; <br />WHEREAS it has come to the <br />attention of the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, that there is <br />being formed in Charlottesville, a non -stock, <br />non-profit corporation which is <br />to be known as the Charlottesville Veterans <br />Housing Corporation, and which <br />corporation is being formed for the purpose of <br />purchasing from the federal public housing authorities, certain dwellings <br />located in Alexander Park, Portsmouth, Virginia, ten in number, and which • <br />will be demounted and transported to Charlottesville and sold to veterans at <br />
