<br />Rates by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Watson, read, and carried over to the next meeting
<br />for consideration.
<br />On motion by Mr. Watson, seconded by Mr. Gleason, the following resolution was
<br />adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Adams, Mr. Gleason, and Mr. Watson.

<br />ANNUAL APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION
<br />WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Council held on the 7th day of
<br />Annual
<br />Appropriation April, 1947, the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1948, after
<br />Resolution
<br />being duly considered, was adopted as is set forth and spread as a part
<br />of the minutes of said meeting. (See Minute Book I, pages 1 - 3 ).
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />• Charlottesville that the sums as set forth in said budget as Estimated
<br />Expenditures for the year 1947-1948, or as much thereof as may be necessary,
<br />be and the same are hereby appropriated for the purposes specified in said
<br />budget.
<br />On motions duly made and seconded, the following were elected as members of
<br />the City School Board for a term of three years commencing July 10 19,4,7:
<br />School Mr. S. F. Hamm First Ward
<br />Board Mr. R. H. Perry Second Ward
<br />Mr. H. G. Linton Third Ward
<br />Dr. George T. Starnes Fourth Ward.

<br />The following accounts were over -expended for the fiscal year ending
<br />June 30, 1947, and an appropriation should be made to cover these over -
<br />expenditures:
<br />On motion a committee, consisting of Mr. Gleason, the City Manager, the
<br />Fire Hydrant
<br />Committee
<br />Fire Chief and City Attorney, was appointed to study and advise on the installa-
<br />tion of fire hydrants outside the City.
<br />County Water On motion an application from E. H. deJa.rnette for a county water line
<br />Extension
<br />Refused
<br />extension off Early Street was unanimously refused.
<br />On motion the appropriation for improvements to the lower floor of the
<br />Teen -Age
<br />Club
<br />Midway School Building for the Teen -Age Club was carried over for further
<br />consideration.
<br />The resolution appropriating x:8,900.00 for street equipment, which was offered
