Nash, the following resolution was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for further consideration: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />0,777.20 be and the same is hereby appropriated in accordance with the <br />foregoing resolution. <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Tebell, the following resolution was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$2,575.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated for altering and repairing <br />the City Hall. <br />Mr. Hudson, of the Pitometer Company, addressed the Council in regard to making <br />an overall engineering study of the City's water lines. He stated that the <br />cost of making a such study, if done now, would be 8&1,500.00. The City _�1C.nager <br />recornrnended that this study be made. On motion by 11r. Nash, seconded by Mr. Tebell, <br />the City 1�vlanager was authorized to enter into a contract with The-Pitometer Company <br />for an overall engineering study of the City's water lines in accordance with the <br />foregoing. <br />The City Manager advised that he had appointed Mr. R. H. Robertson as Su perin- <br />tendent of the Gas Plant at a salary of w250.00 per month. On motion by Mr. Gleason, <br />seconded by Mr. Tebell, this appointment was unanimously ratified. <br />A petition requesting that the City accept dedication of Woodland Drive and <br />Park Lane was presented, and on motion referred to a committee consisting of pair. Nash <br />and thee. City Manager for investigation and report. <br />An ordinance entitled ttAN ORDINANCE FOR IMPOSING AND COLLECTING LICENSES AND <br />TAXES FOR THE EXERCISE OF CERTAIN PRIVILEGES WITHIN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR <br />TWELVE MONTHS CO U1v1ENCING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1947, AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY OF <br />MAY, 194841, was again read, amended, and adopted by the following recorded vote, <br />Ayes: i4ir. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, and Mir. Tebell. Noes: None. (Full text of <br />this ordinance will be found recorded in Ordinance Book 3, pages <br />A motion by Mr. IJa,sh, seconded by Mr. Adams, that the City httorney be instruct - <br />ed to condemn the necessary right-of-way for a sewer line through the property of <br />Mrs. Alice V. Clarity on Jefferson Park Avenue, was adopted by the following recorded <br />vote, Ayes: Mr. Adams and sir. Nash.
