r k% o Lights - Athletic Field Alterations and Repairs - City Hal l Pitometer Study of Water Lines Robertson - Gas Plant Woodland Drive & Park Lane License Tax Ordinance Clarity - Sewer Right- of-way On motion by Mr. Tebell, seconded by h1r. Nash, the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for further consideration: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that 0,777.20 be and the same is hereby appropriated in accordance with the foregoing resolution. On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Tebell, the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $2,575.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated for altering and repairing the City Hall. Mr. Hudson, of the Pitometer Company, addressed the Council in regard to making an overall engineering study of the City's water lines. He stated that the cost of making a such study, if done now, would be 8&1,500.00. The City _�1C.nager recornrnended that this study be made. On motion by 11r. Nash, seconded by Mr. Tebell, the City 1�vlanager was authorized to enter into a contract with The-Pitometer Company for an overall engineering study of the City's water lines in accordance with the foregoing. The City Manager advised that he had appointed Mr. R. H. Robertson as Su perin- tendent of the Gas Plant at a salary of w250.00 per month. On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Tebell, this appointment was unanimously ratified. A petition requesting that the City accept dedication of Woodland Drive and Park Lane was presented, and on motion referred to a committee consisting of pair. Nash and thee. City Manager for investigation and report. An ordinance entitled ttAN ORDINANCE FOR IMPOSING AND COLLECTING LICENSES AND TAXES FOR THE EXERCISE OF CERTAIN PRIVILEGES WITHIN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR TWELVE MONTHS CO U1v1ENCING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1947, AND ENDING THE THIRTIETH DAY OF MAY, 194841, was again read, amended, and adopted by the following recorded vote, Ayes: i4ir. Adams, Mr. Gleason, Mr. Nash, and Mir. Tebell. Noes: None. (Full text of this ordinance will be found recorded in Ordinance Book 3, pages A motion by Mr. IJa,sh, seconded by Mr. Adams, that the City httorney be instruct - ed to condemn the necessary right-of-way for a sewer line through the property of Mrs. Alice V. Clarity on Jefferson Park Avenue, was adopted by the following recorded vote, Ayes: Mr. Adams and sir. Nash. Noes: Mr. Tebell. On motion the meeting adjourned. Pursuant to the following call: Mr. R.
