University Circle - Rezoning Public Hey: ring - University Circle. 503 the Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: :fir. Adams, Mr. Gleason, -,,,Ir. Nas�_z, and lir. Watson. The City Manager reported that Mr. J. Goldsten had, at his request, furnished complete plans and specifications for the proposed apartment building on University Circle and that in view of the request contained in the petition for rezoning of University Circle area that pending action thereon no per -lit for apartments be issued, the opinion of the City Attorney had been requested as to the propriety of with- holding the permit. The City Attorney presented an opinion thFt if the application was otherwise in order the permit should be granted. At this point there was served on the City Manager an injunction order entered by the Corporation Court of the City of Charlottesville, enjoining him and the Building Inspector from issuing the pro- posed permit. Report of committee in regard to public hearing for changes in zoning ordinance on University Circle. 2. Ordinance requiring apartment otirners to provide off-street parking. BY ORDER OF: Jas. E. Bowen, Jr. (signed) R. S. Adams (signed)_ _ Clerk President the Council met in special session on this date witli the following members present: Mr. Adams, Mir. Gleason, Idr. Nash, and Mr. Tebell. The Committee appointed to consider the advisability of a public hearing on the petition for rezoning of University Circle presented its report recommending that a public hearing be held. On motion by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Nash, the follow - in resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a public hearing on the petition that the area comprising lots one (1) to thirty-three (33) inclusive, of the University Circle subdivision be rezoned changing said area from an A-1 Residence District to an A Residence District, be held on the 10th day of April, 1947 at 4:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, and that notice of said hearing be published in the Charlottesville Daily rrogress at least fifteen (15) days prior to said hearing, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of said petition be transmitted to the Board of Zoning Appeals for investigation and report.
