APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$151,336 - Foster Care Staffing (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $151,336 in Federal funds is hereby appropriated to account 12-161-062289- <br />50111 for the purpose of establishing two new social worker positions to address <br />excessive caseloads in the Foster Care Program. <br /> <br />c. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />Transfer of Funds for Market Street Parking Garage <br /> Renovation (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the <br />sum of $1,887,900 is hereby appropriated to the Capital Projects Fund to the Market <br />Street Garage account 26-181-121112-50111 along with $75,000 in existing funds in that <br />account ($1,962,900 total) for the purpose of renovating the Market Street Garage <br />including expansion of the retail space; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. <br /> <br /> This appropriation includes a $1,000,000 loan from the Gas Fund to the Capital <br />Fund. This loan is conditioned upon full repayment of the principal interest of 5 ½% to <br />the Gas Fund on or before June 30, 2006. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to <br />take whatever steps are necessapj to complete this transaction. This appropriation also <br />includes the transfer of $558,000 from the Market Street Garage Retail Space account 26- <br />020-091203 to account 26-181-121112-50111. This appropriation is also conditioned <br />upon the receipt of $329,000 in anticipated future parking revenues in account 26-181- <br />121112. <br /> <br />d. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$20,000 - Donation for Education Needs for Foster <br />Care Children (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $20,000.00 is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 12-I61-062294 for the <br />purpose of funding the educational needs of children in foster care. Said money was <br />received as a donation to the Social Services Departments in the City of Charlottesville, <br />Greene County and Albemarle County. The Mayor is hereby requested to send a letter of <br />appreciation to the donor organization, which requested to remain anonymous. <br /> <br />e. APPROPRIATION: $161,150 - Sale of Emmet Street Lot (carried over) <br /> <br />f. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$426,670 - School Reserve Funds for Capital <br />Projects (carried over) <br /> <br />g. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />Reprogramming Community Development Block <br />Grant Funds (carried over) <br /> <br />h. APPROPRIATION: $50,000 - Summer Lunch Program (carried over) <br /> <br />i. RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />Approving Summer Youth Initiative (QCC) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the cityof Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />this Council hereby approves a youth corps program to provide job training and summer <br />work experience for young people age 14 to 18 who reside in the City of Charlottesville. <br />This program will be supported by the Weed & Seed Network, TeenSight, Monticello <br />Area Community Action Agency (MACAA) and various local employers and will be <br />funded in part with monies (up to $55,000.00) already appropriated in the Capital Fund. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: "AN ORDiNANCE AMENDiNG AND <br />REORDAINING SECTION 29-40 OF ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 29 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHAA~,LOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATiNG TO LAND USED FOR PUBLIC RECREATION PURPOSES" <br />(2na reading) <br /> <br /> <br />
