ORGANIZATION HAS SHOWN TREMENDOUS LEADERSHIP. <br /> <br />MR. KING ALSO STATED THAT JAUNT IS A VERY IMPORTANT REGIONAL PROGRAM AND SHOULD <br />BE FUNDED, AS WELL AS THE YOUTH SERVICE CENTER AND LEGAL AIDE. MR. KING STATED <br />THAT HE SUPPORTS FUNDING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AS RECOMMENDED IN THE PROPOSED <br /> <br />BUDGET, BUT HE DID NOT AGREE WITH INCREASING THE DEPARTMENT'S LEVEL OF SERVICE, <br />STATING THIS IS NOT THE YEAR FOR EXTRAVAGANT SERVICE. <br />E. P. HENSLEY OF STADIUM ROAD ASKED COUNCIL TO PLAY A MORE CONSERVATIVE <br />ROLE IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF TAX MONEY AND TO SCRUTINIZE INCREASES IN SALARIES <br /> <br />ABOVE $20,000 FOR CITY EMPLOYEES. MR. HENSLEY SUGGESTED ASKING VOLUNTEERS FOR <br />SERVICES AS OPPOSED TO USING SALARIED EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br /> CHARLES LILLY OF 804 DRUID AVENUE STATED HE HAD COMPARED THE 1979-80 BUDGET <br />TO THE CURRENTLY PROPOSED 1982-83 BUDGET AND HAD FOUND A NUMBER OF GREAT <br />INCREASES IN ALLOCATIONS. MR. LILLY STATED THAT CUTTING THE ALLOCATION FOR THE <br />GOLD COURSE COULD BE A SAVINGS TO THE CITY BECAUSE 99% OF THE CITIZENS CANNOT <br />PLAY OR ARE NOT ABLE TO GET OUT TO THE COURSE. MR. LILLY REFERRED TO THE TAX <br />RELIEF PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY, INDICATING THAT A NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE CITIZENS <br />HAVE PRIDE AND DO NOT WANT TO TAKE MONEY FROM SUCH A PROGRAM. HE POINTED OUT <br />THAT A SIZEABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY COULD BE SAVED IF SOME OF THE LUXURIES ENJOYED <br />BY CITY EMPLOYEES WERE REDUCED. MR.
