APPROPRIATION: <br />APPROPRIATING FUNDS <br />FOR 1982-83 CDBG <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mayor Buck asked that an amendment be added to this appropriation' <br />stipulating that when the funds are returned from Dogwood Housing Limited <br />to the City, they be reprogrammed for Housing. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gleason asked if demolition would be allowed in the $168,000 <br />Redevelopment Program without Council approval. <br /> <br /> Mayor Buck responded, stating that the staff is preparing guidelines <br />and setting the criteria which would authorize Council's approval of the <br />details of the regulations, then the Housing Authority would have final <br />approval. <br /> <br /> Mr. Conover made a motion to amend the CDBG appropriation, stipulating <br />that the guidelines prepared by the staff for the use of the $168,000 come <br />to Council as a written document for approval, then if necessary Council can <br />refer them to the Housing Authority. Mrs. Gleason seconded the motion, <br />which was approved by a unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> The appropriation of funds for 1982-83 CDBG which was offered at the <br />meeting of June 21st was adopted with the above, mentioned amendments by <br />the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, <br />Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br />$8,262 JOINT <br />SECURITY COMPLEX <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that this appropriation is the City's share of payment <br />for a fire alarm system at the Joint Security Complex. On motion by Dr. Hall, <br />seconded by Dr. Gunter, the following appropriation was offered and carried <br /> <br />over to the next meeting for consideration: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the sum of $8,262.00 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated <br />balance of the General Fund to expenditure account 01-12060 for use by the <br />Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail Board in installing a fire alarm <br />system at the Joint Security Complex. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br />$15,000 SUMMER <br />NUTRITION PROGRAM <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the following appropriation <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration: <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br />$80,S00 CATEC <br />ROOF REPAIRS <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />that a sum sufficient, estimated at $15,000.00 is hereby appropriated from <br />funds received in the Grants Fund to expenditure account 11-S1200 for the <br />operation of a Summer Nutrition Program for children in connection with the <br />Summer Playground Programs of the Department of Parks and Recreation. Such <br />appropriation shall be limited to the amount reimbursable by the United <br />Stated Department of Agriculture for the operation of such program, and <br />shall be expended in accordance with applicable federal regulations. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the following appropriation <br /> <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the sum of $80,500 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated <br />balance of the Capital Projects Fund to expenditure account 05-01140 to fund <br />the City's share of the cost of roof repairs for the Charlottesville-Albemarle <br />Technical Education Center (CATEC); and be it further <br /> <br /> RESOLVED that the sum of $4,957;00, a portion of the amount originally <br />appropriated to expenditure account 05-01012 for building modifications at <br />Johnson School, being no longer needed for such purpose, is hereby transferred <br />and reappropriated to expenditure account 05-01106 in the Capital Projects <br />Fund for architectural services in connection with the CATEC roof repairs. <br /> <br />Mr. Conover questioned the warranty on the new roof. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Dunbar of the Charlottesville Public Schools responded, indicating <br />that a fifteen year warranty is guaranteed. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br />AUTHORIZING MAYOR <br />TO SIGN EASEMENT <br />ACCESS - MEADOW <br />CREEK TREATMENT <br />PLANT PROPERTY <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Conover, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the following <br />resolution was adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Conover, <br /> <br />Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes- None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following <br />document, in form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />Deed for water line across Meadowcreek Sewage Treatment <br />Plant property between the City and the Rivanna Water <br />and Sewer Authority. <br /> <br /> <br />
