108 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br />ACCEPTING HAMMOND <br />STREET <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: <br />GRANTING A SPECIAL <br />PERMIT FOR MANU- <br />FACTURING AND <br />PROCESSING ESTA- <br />BLISHMENT <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br />DISPOSAL OF <br />UNCLAIMED <br />PERSONAL <br />PROPERTY <br /> <br />ORDINANCE:. <br />PERPETUAL CARE <br />FUND <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br />that the sum of $235.00 received from various private donors as an expression <br />of gratitude for services performed by the City Fire Department, is hereby <br />received as revenue in the General Fund and appropriated to expenditure <br />account 01-22011-5504 to be expended as directed by the Fire Chief for the <br />benefit of Fire Department personnel. <br /> <br /> This item was withdrawn from the agenda, to be discussed at a future <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, addressed <br />Council, explaining that the~Planning Commission recommends approval of <br />a special permit to use the property at the northwest corner of Monticello <br />Road and Druid Avenue for a manufacturing and processing establishment of <br />a craft nature in a B-3 zone. Mr. Huja explained that the proposed use <br />would involve the processing of "green ware" for use and sale as part of <br />a ceramics business. <br /> <br /> Council discussed the proposed special permit and expressed concerns <br /> <br />of disapproval of the Planning Commissinn's recommendations to provide a <br />waiver of the sidewalk and curb requirements along all street frontages <br />and the waiver of the requirement for any drainage improvements. <br /> <br /> Council suggested that a condition of the special permit be that the <br /> drainage ditch should be kept clean. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, <br />Mr. Conover, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> WHEREAS, W. L. Mawyer and Ralph K. Wyland have applied for a special <br /> permit to use property owned by them for a manufacturing and processing <br /> establishment of a craft nature; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such application has been duly advertised as provided by <br /> law and has been the subject of a public hearing jointly held by this <br /> Council and the City Planning Commission on July 13, 1982; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has recommended approval of <br /> such special permit, now, therefore, be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, <br /> that: <br /> <br /> t) The property located in a B-3 Business District at 1709 Monticello <br /> Road, designated as Parcels 32 and 33 on City Real Property Tax Map 61, <br /> is hereby granted a special permit for use as a ,manUfacturifig and pro- <br /> cessing establishment of a craft nature" as permitted under Section 31-93 <br /> of the City Code. <br /> <br /> 2) City Council finds that such use conforms to the requirements <br /> for special permits generally imposed by Article XX (Section 31-218 et <br /> seq.) of Chapter 31 of the City Code, and this permit is subject to all <br /> conditions and restrictions imposed generally by such article. <br /> <br /> 3) Such special permit shall be conditioned upon development of <br /> the property in accordance with the site plan submitted with the special <br /> permit application, including conditions imposed by the Planning <br /> Commission, and as finally approved by the Director of Planning. <br /> <br /> 4) As a further condition of such special permit the owners of <br /> such property shall maintain the existing drainage ditch on the property <br /> in an open free-flowing condition at all times. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, an ordinance <br /> <br /> entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 21-8 OF THE CODE <br /> OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, 1976, AS AMENDED, SUCH AMENDED <br /> SECTION RELATING TO THE DISPOSAL OF UNCLAIMED PERSONAL PROPERTY" was <br /> offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, an ordinance <br /> <br /> entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTIONS 6-5, 6-6 and 6-7, AS AMENDED, <br /> OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE AND TO AMEND CHAPTER 6 OF <br /> SUCH CODE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 6-7.1, THE REPEALED AND ADDED <br /> SECTIONS RELATING TO THE PERPETUAL CARE FUND FOR CITY CEMETERIES" was <br /> offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
