• <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 2-173 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, RELATED TO THE APPOINTMENT <br />OF THE AIRPORT COMMISSION. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT SECTION 2-173 OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, RELATED TO THE APPOINTMENT OF THE AIRPORT COMMISSION BE AMENDED AND RE- <br />ENACTED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 2-173. CREATION; COMPOSITION; APPOINTMENT, TERMS AND COMPENSATION OF MEMBERS <br />THERE IS HEREBY ESTABLISHED A CHARLOTTESVILLE-ALBEMARLE .JOINT AIRPORT COMMISSION, TO CONSIST OF <br />SEVEN MEMBERS. ONE MEMBER SHALL BE THE CITY MANAGER, ONE MEMBER SHALL BE THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE OF <br />ALBEMARLE COUNTY, AND THE REMAINING FIVE MEMBERS SHALL BE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OR OF ALBEMARLE COUNTY <br />WHO HOLD NO OTHER MUNICIPAL OFFICE AND WHO SHALL BE APPOINTED BY JOINT ACTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND <br />THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ALBEMARLE COUNTY. <br />ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION SHALL SERVE WITHOUT COMPENSATION. THE CITY MANAGER AND THE COUNTY <br />EXECUTIVE OF ALBEMARLE COUNTY SHALL SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION FOR TERMS CORRESPONDING TO THEIR <br />RESPECTIVE OFFICIAL TENURES. ALL OTHER MEMBERS SHALL SERVE TERMS WHICH EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 1ST OF THE <br />YEAR OF EXPIRATION AND WHICH LAST FOR THREE YEARS EXCEPT FOR THOSE THREE MEMBERS TO BE APPOINTED AS OF <br />DECEMBER 1, 1968. THESE LAST MENTIONED MEMBERS INITIALLY SHALL SERVE STAGGERED TERMS OF ONE, TWO, AND <br />THREE YEARS RESPECTIVELY AND THEREAFTER THEIR TERMS SHALL BE FOR THREE YEARS. <br />THE UNEXPIRED TERMS OF THE TWO EXISTING MEMBERS, OTHER THAN THE CITY MANAGER AND COUNTY EXECUTIVE, <br />SHALL BE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 1ST OF THE YEAR THEIR TERMS EXPIRE. NO MEMBER, EXCEPT THE CITY MANAGER <br />AND COUNTY EXECUTIVE, SHALL BE RE -APPOINTED WHO HAS SERVED AS A MEMBER FOR SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS <br />IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SUCH RE -APPOINTMENT. <br />CLERK <br />149 <br />ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 21 1968 <br />AYES: MR. WRIGHT. <br />NOES: NONEA <br />PREIS I DENT <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 25 OF ARTICLE VIII <br />OF APPENDIX II OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, <br />RELATED TO ONE ADDITIONAL USE REGULATION FOR B-1 BUSINESS DISTRICT <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT SECTION 25 OF ARTICLE VIII OF <br />APPENDIX II OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1965, BE AMENDED AND REENACTED TO READ AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 25. USE REGULATIONS. <br />A BUILDING OR PREMISES SHALL BE USED ONLY FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: <br />15. SMALL SIZE PARTS ASSEMBLY IN ANY BUILDING EXISTING AS OF JANUARY 11 196'?, WHICH HAS A FLOOR <br />SPACE AREA THAT DOES NOT EXCEED 20,000 SQUARE FEET; PROVIDED THAT ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE <br />MET: <br />A. THE FINISHED PRODUCT OF SUCH ASSEMBLY OPERATION SHALL NOT EXCEED 100 POUNDS <br />NOR THE OVERALL DIMENSIONS OF SAID PRODUCT EXCEED A VOLUME OF 4 CUBIC FEET. <br />B. NO PORTION OF SUCH OPERATION INCLUDING STORAGE SHALL BE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING <br />WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LOADING AND UNLOADING. <br />C. THE BUILDING SO USED SHALL NOT BE CLOSER THAN 200 FEET TO ANY OTHER BUILDING USED <br />FOR RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES NOR CLOSER THAN 400 FEET TO ANY RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICT. <br />D. THIS USE SHALL HAVE NO ADVERSE INFLUENCE ON SURROUNDING DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE OF <br />SMOKE, ODOR, NOISE, DUST OR FUMES. <br />E. THE OWNER OR LESSEE SHALL PROCURE FROM THE BUILDING OFFICIAL ANNUALLY AN OCCUPANCY <br />PERMIT FOR THE CONTINUANCE OF SAID OPERATIONS WHICH PERMIT SHALL BE GRANTED ONLY IF <br />USE OF THE LAND IN QUESTION CONTINUES TO MEET ALL CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN THIS PARAGRAPH. <br />
